  1. Thank you very much for this! I tried calling the number but it doesn't seem to be working so might have to call some kind of central number. Really wish things were kept local, I hate sitting in phone queues! But that's enough moaning for one Monday. Thank you!
  2. What! Street party! Amazing! Aw man, sad I missed out!
  3. Hello, Was wondering if any of you guys have ever found that there is post waiting for you at the sorting office but that no card has been left? Having a bit of a dispute with an online company who reckon that may be the case, but slack as Royal Mail can be at times, I've never had that situation! I know there are some threads about phone numbers for Silvester Road but due to the technical ineptitude I can't find it? Could anyone help me out? Cheers guys.
  4. Hello forumites, I live in ED and I am thinking about starting up an improvisation group for adults, and I was wondering if there is any interest at all? It would basically be learning and playing theatre games, improvising scenes and learning how to be spontaneous. Think 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?'-ish. It would mostly be just for fun, but if people were really enjoying it and a solid group formed, we could potentially start performing in fringe venues. But I'll stop now before I get ahead of myself! I'm a freelance theatre practitioner and I have run a group like this before when I lived in York. Further to expressions of interest, could anyone suggest a suitable venue that doesn't cost a fortune to hire? Thanks guys.
  5. Hello, I have recently discovered the wonder of Brockwell Lido though am yet to have a swim or use the facilities. I just visited their website and despite its detail on all other aspects of the facilities, it neglects to list the prices on a 'pay-as-you-swim' basis. Does anyone know how much it costs to have just a swim, and also how much it costs to use the hydrotherapy suite? The website refuses to tell you that piece of basic info but encourages season ticket buying at every turn! Thanks in advance for your help.
  6. Argh, wish I could give you more clues! It's none of the films said so far I'm afraid. I'll try and recall more...BlinkeyBlonck's observations give you more of an insight! It's a point of view shot, a male character, as BB said, quite dry... ARGH!
  7. Hello East Dulwich Filmy Types, We are trying to remember what film it is where the opening scene is a point of view shot from the main character who is in a boat watching a funeral where the coffin is being pushed out to sea, and lots of women all in black are weeping and wailing over the coffin. Does anyone know the film? Thanks!
  8. I've been to see Table Manners of the Norman Conquests trilogy and it was really good fun. It isn't the most groundbreaking piece of theatre you'll ever see but it's a great evening's entertainment. Also, if you are under 26 or a student you can get a ticket for ?12. The supposed 'restricted view' seats are also not bad at all, couldn't really understand what was restricted about it! It is in the round so there are good views from pretty much anywhere in the auditorium. Anyone who wants to go to see plays or wants to know about what is happening please feel free to PM me as I tend to keep up with what's happening in the area and am always happy to have new theatre buddies! Kate.
