We are running a local (ED) charity event on 3rd May, in conjuntion with the Maudsley Hospital with (hopefully) a band in the evening to play some danceable cover songs for about 40 attendees. Our normal band can't make this date so we are looking for an alternative volunteer band. A good chance for some positive exposure, including local press! Springtime - not sure what your sarcastic, unpleasant response is all about, or your motivation for the post. I suspect that many families were kept awake that night, by what was clearly at best, unthinking anti-social behaviour - its not btw a main road in (your words) a big big city - its a quiet area in a suburb at a time when people are sleeping. I understand we sign up for lots of this when we live in London and we can't really do anything about, but this forum is for sharing these experiences nonetheless. Maybe someone knows who the person is and can help prevent it happenign again. Maybe not - but either way, your input isn't particularly helpful...

Yup - also down Friern Road about 3am - Thursday morning I think. Must have been going pretty fast given the horrible noise. A bit unreasonable given the warm night wiith many having windows open, must have woken up many families...

I am sure Aston is great, but he quoted us ?40 per hour where two other people also recommended here were ?25 per hour, so we have not used him. We assumed he was very busy and didn't want our job which is fair enough of course, but it did strike us as a rather high rate!

Best Tapas we have ever tasted (and have been to Spain loads of times) is made by a lovely couple Dioni and Jose, who have a pop up called Spanish Particular. They currently run it out of the Brockley Mess. Think they are still away in Spain for the summer, but hope that they will be re-starting again next month. HI Lisa We have just had all our curtains made for our new ED home (2 bay windows and some others) and would def recommend Samantha, who made and fitted them. The final ones are being fitted on Tuesday. Not cheap mind (and she is not very local either - she was recommended by our interior designer) but I will get her contact details on Tuesday if this would be useful. Hi - our car has been scratched and dented slightly whilst parked opposite the roofing company on Bawdale Road (watch out for parking near there!) Anyhow its probably not worth using our insurance, so wondered if there was a local garage or individual anybody could recommend. We will sell the car once repaired. Thanks!

Hi there - I am moving to Friern Road from Surrey and looking for a nice tennis club to join. I play about 2-3 times a week to a reasonable standard (well for a 60 year old!) Have done a google search and there seems to be 3-4 with Camber the closest. Any thoughts welcome!

Hi - we are in the process of buying a house on Friern Road which needs complete renovation, kitchen extension, loft extension and garden design and build. We are renting for 6 months whilst the work is being completed. It's a big project and we want a dream home at the end! We need a creative / reliable firm to help us with design, manage the planning permission process and then do the whole build. From a web search we have come across Tony Pestano, Conley & Co and Design squared, but we are both new to the area and also not expert in work of this scale. Any thoughts / experiences welcome!!
