  1. Can anyone offer a good disco party hire recommendation? I’ve looked on Google but seems a bit full on? Just need someone to give the party a sense of occasion, get the kids dancing for a bit, but still allow kids to do other stuff (eg, crafts) in background for those who don’t want to. Big but not a massive room (so no quiet zone possible)… really don’t want something too manic
  2. Thanks so much for this! It’s worked - apparently a common problem.
  3. 2015 iMac was working fine until I tried to erase and reboot for sale. Now I can’t get past the disk utility phase so I’m looking for someone to check it out and see if any hope for repair. Any ideas?
  4. Not true. Unless she?s got a temperature? From https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection#SymptomsPositiveTest ?You do not need to take any more LFD tests after the 10th day of your self-isolation period and you may stop self-isolating after this day. This is because you are unlikely to be infectious after the 10th day of your self-isolation period. Even if you have a positive LFD test result on the 10th day of your self-isolation period you do not need to take any more LFD tests after this day and you do not need a follow-up PCR test. If you are concerned you may choose to limit close contact with other people, especially those who are at higher risk of severe illness until 14 days after the start of your self-isolation period.?
  5. Still bad nearly 4 years after giving birth. Causing a lot of back pain and discomfort. A lot of conflicting advice out there, and finding I?m just not sure if I?m doing recommended exercises properly. Would really appreciate any insights, experiences, recommendations?
  6. Should say, please PM me if you think you can help out.
  7. I don't know how usual a call this is, but... I want to get more out of some data analysis work I'm doing. Maths A Level a long time ago. My work's training is too far ahead and I need to get going on it now. Also - there's a specific problem I need to solve for a deadline coming up, so don't have time to go through hours of online training just to be able to identify what it is I need to do. I'm looking for someone who's v good on statistics. I don't want them to do the work for me, just to meet with me and discuss in the first instance how they might help equip me with the tools I need. I'm envisaging maybe 1-2 hours, maybe more. It's not a hard question (I think I'm after the best model to assess correlation on this particular data set, and doing some statistical significance) but I do want to meet in the first instance (maybe 10 mins on zoom or something) to check that you can help me solve the problem I need to solve, and set me on the right path to it. I want this to be a quick fix, but I want to learn by doing this and ultimately understand better the training paths I need to take.
  8. Thanks Betty This will inevitably happen to us so great to have the advice Starting a new job soon and dealing with the absence from nursery until tested factor is already stressing me out.
  9. I just wanted to post to recommend Mama Codes. My 8 year old has had a fantastic time online with them over lockdown and is now signed up for their autumn weekly after school online clubs. I honestly can?t recommend them highly enough. Richard is a fantastic online teacher, who is so clear, so patient, and so respectful of all the kids. He has really helped my son grow in confidence and ability/enthusiasm. As he goes back to school tomorrow, just wanted to post this as a thank you and a recommendation. It was one of the few highlights of our week in lockdown and we look forward to carrying on.
  10. Thanks - but I am looking for classes, not resources.
  11. my 7 year old is really struggling without the school routine. His school doesn't provide much support and I woudl like to find some kind of other learning environment that he can participate in - even if it's just once a week. Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations? Would be v appreciated!
  12. Upstairs flat leaking into our property when shower is used Owners not responsive so have to find plumber/someone who can do a short term fix. Happened several times before and usually sorted out in short term with silicone gun/grouting This is leading to a bigger job as recurring issue and we are going to get it fixed PROPERLY if they don?t but can?t do it now Will be able to social distance etc
  13. We can?t go any lower on the ceiling because of where the windows are relative to ceiling (close). Can?t replace windows obv - also in conservation area so wouldn?t get planning even if mad enough to do that. Otherwise I would have done this a long time ago, and sorted out claims later.
  14. Yes absolutely - zero. Thanks for link James! Mazza6 All great point and sorry for not clarifying We own 60% ish of freehold. Flat upstairs owners own the rest. We haven?t got a mgt comp, have tried to deal with stuff between us as and when. We insisted on a carpet because they had bare floorboards, that lease specifically outlaws, caused friction but they did do it (not because it was a lease issue mind, saw email thread between them about ?having to appease us? - I think because they?re thinking of a future loft conversion and want easy compliance on various issues).Sound proofing is obviously more expensive- we are offering to pay freehold share. It?s actually made things worse as folks bounce around on nice soft carpet. But they don?t take the lease seriously. Doubt they?ve actually read it. Said they hadn?t a clue about no pets clause when they granted permission about the cat recently. Have done work on communal areas without our agreement Haven?t reimbursed us for work on the front garden that should be jointly funded. And do not pass on the clear noise restrictions in the lease to their tenants. For us - what?s the point in having these safeguards? The noise/ pet issue is most difficult for us, but the rest suck too.
  15. Ganapati Takeaway kitchen is shut. I need some kind of alternative. Desperate. Any updates re restaurants/deliveries? Could do with a recommendation,.

    M&S?

Ok, so definitely not essential, so didn't want to post in the important Covid thread, but I need to get a few basics tomorrow and wanted to avoid Sainsburys as it is DEPRESSING. Well ok. Admitted. I NEED M&S chocolate eggs. I cannot cope with next week home school schedule and my new pre school/toddler crafty-ness without M&S chocolate eggs. Lordship lane store is my closest M&S. We're off to the park very early tomorrow and I was going to pop in. Is this madness? Does an air of apocalypse hang over trusty M&S? Will I succeed in my chocolate egg mission? Or should I avoid?
  17. Thanks Ole! Yes, I am, but probably need to get more organised I do feel for upstairs - a lot of the noise is what you might expect to be making in your 20s/30s, but effectively they?re being leased a property where they can?t have people home into the early hours without making anti social noise In that situation, I?d be looking to reduce my rent tbh for not being open about the state of the flats when I signed up, but much easier to blame the mean and moany downstairs neighbours I guess....
  18. We have lived in this flat for 10 years. One flat above us. We are subject to awful impact noise and other noise from upstairs. I can hear normal conversations, let alone being woken when they crash in from the pub with their mates at 1-2am Monday morning. Tenants slam the front door constantly, which is stressful and highly unpleasant. My son finds it disturbing/ daughter woken up by noise etc We?ve asked them to reduce noise nicely, pointing out to them that they don?t really live in what you might understand as a separate property (ie their floor is effectively our ceiling)... they don?t care. Lots of ?oh it wasn?t me it was x new housemate so I can do anything? The lease on the property (ie that we own as joint freeholders, tho we have 2/3 share) has specific clauses related to noise restrictions (ie no music after 11) but landlords do not enforce. As far as they?re concerned, their tenants can do whatever they like unless the landlords themselves (who don?t live here) feel it?s anti social. They don?t view the lease as important - grant tenants pets despite the no pets clause and expect us to just put up with it. They want to have as little to do with the flats as possible and don?t feel they?re obliged to do anything about the dire noise, despite us having a freehold relationship with them. We?ve raised soundproofing with them since 2016 (can only be done from their flat), but they?re always dismissive. I?m done. We are losing sleep and I?m losing sanity - the stress of the continual conflict with tenants is becoming acute. Can anyone recommend someone to give good legal advice here? Our solicitor advises on our rights, but not on how we can enforce those, and I need someone who can help me action. I don?t see how we can move, as son is so settled at school and the cost of relocation etc. I need to find ways of staying here without dreading what the night will bring. Any help or recommendation v appreciated
