  1. First catch up Fri 28th September, the Lordship Pub I believe. Details to be confirmed :)
  2. My baby had silent reflux and pretty much cried for her first 6 months non-stop despite me doing everything in my power to soothe her. It was utterly heartbreaking and hellish. My self esteem and confidence was at an all time low and the only reason I managed to avoid postnatal depression was forcing myself out to places like this with other mums and babies. My point is you never know what somebody?s situation is, we need to be more supportive and tolerant of one another. Babies are complex creatures that cannot always be silenced within a few minutes. The customer must have been a complete arse.
  3. We decided to send our daughter to Greendale in the end. She started at 11 months and is now 20 months. She didn?t settle well in the baby room to be honest, partly because a great member of staff left to go travelling, but mainly due to her personality as she always wanted to run before she could walk. They soon realised that and moved her to toddlers room early and since then she has been in her absolute element! The toddler room lead is brilliant and so good with the kids. Lots of great activities. There is a core of staff in the nursery that have been there for many years, which is really nice. I like the new manager, she seems to muck in and is good with the kids, there?s no hierarchy. She has always dealt with any concerns or queries quickly and effectively. The outdoor space is fab and they really make the most of it. They organise regular events for parents and kids. They also use an app that you can log into where they post photos/videos/reports about your child?s developmental progress. The nursery is nice and close to Denmark Hill station, which is an added bonus for our commute into London. I?m definitely pleased we went with this nursery in the end. I hope that helps. Belle.
  4. Hi, I understand they were rated inadequare on their latest ofsted report?! No experience with it personally but we are at Mother Goose Greendale and very happy there.
  5. Hi Calsug, it?s really stressful leaving a little one at nursery for the first time and it?s very important you address all your concerns with the manager to help reassure you. I would request an urgent meeting and be very honest about your reservations. We had similar reservations when our daughter started nursery at 9 months but now she loves it at 17 months. It does take a long while for them to feel completely settled though. From experience, there tends to be less experienced staff that are very much still learning amongst more experienced/confident staff members that manage and oversee them. Maybe with the snack question they were just trying to find out whether they could offer him anything such as pur?ed fruit when the other babies are eating their snacks so he isn?t left out? In terms of the high chair my daughter wouldn?t sit in one for ages and had to be fed on the carer?s lap so they just have to go with the needs of the child rather than what?s convenient for them! Often I have found that the nursery workers are great hands on with the babies but are not always great communicating with adults, so they don?t always come across well. I would consider giving the nursery a chance and perhaps just leaving your son for a few hours initially if at all possible. All the best, Belle.
  6. That ofsted report is shocking! I feel for the children and parents, it must be such a disappointment. Le Nid has a lot of work to do.
  7. It's so nice to hear that your son did well there and very reassuring to know about your good experience! Thanks, Belle
  8. Hi Marie, I had some good feedback from a couple of people on the East Dulwich Mums Facebook page. One lady said that her child initially started in the baby room and has always been happy there and staff are generally good. Another person said their friend's child was doing well there. Some more feedback would be gratefully received though. Thanks, Belle
  9. Does anyone have any recent feedback on this nursery please. We have been offered a place for my 11 month old daughter. The outside space is brilliant, particularly for the toddlers and preschoolers but not quite sure what the baby room and staff are like. Also, there is a new manager who has just arrived so it's difficult to know how things might change under her influence. Any advice welcome. Thank you Belle
  10. Hi everyone, I am having baby number 1 in June. I am late to join the group, but it would great to meet you all! Who shall I contact to join? Thanks! Belle
