  1. Hi, Looking for someone with a van to take a dismantled double bed and mattress over to Greenwich this coming Sunday (Oct 13th). Can be any time of day but somewhere between 10-3 would be ideal. Willing to pay ?30 and driver may need to help carry some parts. Driver will also need to take my husband with them so he can assemble bed at other end. PM if interested. Thanks
  2. Hi, https://www.mooreflooring.co.uk/contact-us/ Kevin at Moore?s Flooring fitted our herringbone Amtico last Autumn and did a great job - we recently had to have it taken up as part of a wider leak problem (completely unrelated to the Amtico fitting or Kevin?s work) and the flood experts commented on what a good job the original fitter had done. He was also by far the lowest quote we got (we had them range from ?2k-?5k, and he was significantly lower). Would highly recommend. Hope that helps
  3. Hello, Need a qualified electrician to come and hardwire my new washing machine in to the fuse plate tomorrow morning (ideally first thing). Don?t think it will take long but not something I?m hugely confident doing myself. Please PM here or reply to this thread. Thanks, Pippa
  4. Hello, Looking for a recommendation for a hairdresser who will help me have a bit of a makeover. Feel like I'm stuck in a bit of a style rut, and my hairdresser seems reluctant to ever give me feedback about whether or not the styles I'm thinking of will actually suit - it's like he's too scared of offending me to actually offer an opinion or make suggestions! So I want to find someone who will talk to me honestly about what would and wouldn't suit - both cut and colour. If anyone has anyone who can help I'll be extremely grateful! Thanks, Pippa
  5. Hello, Lots of great recommendations on here, but I'm afraid I can't marry them with my recent experience of working with Steve. Issues with communication, timeliness and some quite strong demands of money upfront. He did mention some temporary health issues and those may be mitigating circumstances for the above, but was left unimpressed. Feel free to PM if you'd like more details. Don't wish to be unfair to the guy but I did have a few alarm bells before he began, which I quietened through the previously good feedback so want to just provide a bit of balance. Pippa
  6. Hello, Need someone to come and fit polyurethane coving in my hallway and first floor early next week - ideally Monday or Tuesday. We'll supply the coving and the adhesive; you will need to measure, cut and mitre the coving (including tacking it to the walls where necessary, and we will supply the tacks). I estimate there will be around 20 metres of coving to be fitted. Please PM or message on this thread to further discuss quotes etc. Thanks, Pippa
  7. http://cbnldrainage.co.uk Used this company back in March 2017 for similar work ahead of our side return extension. Quick and reliable.
  8. Hello, Looking for a tiler to fit metro tiles (200mm x 100mm) to a very small amount of bathroom wall - approx 0.5sq metre of wall, plus finishing grouting existing fitted tiles on an area of around 2sqm and some shower niches. Would estimate at there being around 1/2 days work for someone efficient. Need someone ideally for this Thursday (Sept 13th); current tiler keeps failing to turn up and it's starting to have a knock-on effect on our completion of bathroom refurb - can't fit our toilet, bathroom cabinet, sink or anything else until the grouting at least is done! PM me on here or reply below and I'll be in touch ASAP. Thanks, Pippa
  9. Hello, Unfortunately I'm in urgent need of a painter/decorator to finish our house refurbishment in Ivydale Road, SE15. Scope of work is full decoration of three bedrooms and all hallway/landing areas (ground, first and second floor), as well as finishing the two loft rooms that were started by a tradesman who has sadly let us down. Mostly decorating newly-plastered walls and woodwork, along with some wallpapering. Need someone who is able to start ASAP. We have estimated that there is around 15 working days' worth of work to be completed. However some rooms are more critical than others in terms of needing them finished to move back in, so we can be flexible on times if necessary. You must be punctual, tidy and willing to work hard. Please reply to this thread or PM me if interested to arrange quoting for the work. Best, Pippa
  10. Is this still on? Looking very quiet on Goose Green ...
  11. Thank you! Will look into it. Appreciate you taking the time to reply. Px
  12. Hello, Anyone have any recommendations of someone who could fit some Amtico flooring in our kitchen? Looking at approx 28sqm in a parquest pattern. Floor is newly fitted ply board. If you?re reading this and are interested in the job pleasePM. Work needs to be done in next 2 weeks. Thanks, Pippa
  13. And the adventure playground at the top of Peckham Playground and the one at Denmark Hill (as already pointed out in this thread) don?t do that already? The baby swings, smaller roundabout, sandpit/small climbing frame in the new playground clearly cater for a younger age group. Had all the equipment clearly been aimed at an older age group (as with fore mentioned areas) then guess what? I wouldn?t take my toddlers there. All I think anyone with smaller children is asking for is a bit of awareness that actually this playground is intended to be for all ages, even if the design lets it down.
  14. So happy to know that I'm not the only one who isn't exactly overjoyed with the new playground either, ech! Don't get me wrong; I'm thrilled that there are new facilities and that children seem to be using and enjoying them. But I'm yet to actually enjoy taking my kids there (they are just over 3 and just turned 2 respectively), and to be honest I'm yet to get a sense that they have enjoyed it either. There seems to have been very little thought given to separating spaces for toddlers and older children. Every single time my kids have ventured on to the trampoline, without fail a group of 3 or 4 older kids (age 8/9/10 years+) has turned up and just bounced along like they are not there, which has scared them. They get off the trampoline to wander to the sandpit and there's swarms of older kids on scooters using the hill near the swings as a ramp, swerving around them and making them nervous. They've ended up soaking from the water pools as older children have just gone through, kicking water at their friends or worse, throwing wet sand. And don't even get me started on the totally ill-conceived water squirter, which as far as I can tell does a pretty good job of getting anyone within a 10 metre radius wet (whether they want to or not). However, I think the biggest problem by far is the complete lack of shade. Yes, I appreciate that the current heatwave is unusual, but it isn't unheard of. Half an hour in that park and I'm left looking (and feeling) like a dog that's been left in a hot car. The scrap of shade provided by the climbing frame in the sandpit appears to be the hottest piece of property in SE22, given how many parents seem to cram into it. Would it be possible to remedially fix this? Hoping that the closing of the other play area is only temporary. Managed 5 mins in the new one with my two year old on Thursday before she burst into tears and we headed to the old playground. It was age-appropriate, lovely and shaded and best of all, empty! I mean, I'm entirely aware that maybe my children are wusses but they don't seem to react the same way at Goose Green, Greenwich Park or Brockwell playgrounds. Sorry to be a moaner. Appreciate that were my children at the higher end of the age chart I would probably think it was the best thing ever but I can only give you the opinion I have. Parents, please just remind your kids to be mindful of little ones, and remember that they are unpredictable in their movements and need a bit of a wide-berth to keep them (and other kids) safe. Having waited SO LONG for the playground to open I really want to be able to enjoy it - especially now the cafe/goldmine has just reopened!
  15. Yes, it?s open. Went with my son on the Friday just gone. Only the main bit with fountains was working though.
