  1. Next time it happens I'll alert the nuisance team and actually record the noise. My 3 year old was convinced there was a wolf outside and it went on and on until well into the morning. It definitely sounds like the vocals of a big hound and it must live virtually opposite us as our neighbours twenty doors down only heard it faintly.
  2. I'm quite sure half the neighbourhood has hardly slept since the early hours of this morning. The howling has been constant. it's been happening on a regular basis over the past months and when it does the animal is relentless (and so are the owners for keeping the dog locked outside?) What is one meant to do? Aren't the owners and direct neighbours massively exhausted? The problem is I can't pinpoint exactly where the animal resides so don't know where to address my concerns. Anyone else got a clue?

DELIVERED 29 March I'm happy to report that virtually all the above items were delivered to me, most in the last week. I have actuslly noticed more RM activity (contractors wearing orange vests) delivering parcels on my road which has been, let's call it..refreshing. Hope it's not just a coincidence and we continue to see improvements.

I have just emailed a letter to James with a summary of the issues I'm experiencing. It includes the following list of parcels of mine that were sent via RM (of which some tracked), a few were delayed but others have completely disappeared off the radar. Aside from being left utterly disappointed and frustrated at this extremely poor performing service, I can't help but feel like this is pure theft from myself and the often, small businesses that I order from that can't afford the fees charged by the likes of DPD and Hermes. The sender of one of my parcels has offered to send out a replacement for the item I ordered and that was dispatched on 16 March. Vendors have reposted me stuff twice before to no avail. How is it possible that EIGHT parcels sent to me in the past few months, of which 5 in the past 3 weeks have disappeared into thin air? Surely this is a criminal act. Particularly stuff that is tracked..HOW?! Where does all this post end up. Is it destroyed, auctioned off? How long are we allowing RM to take the piss and carry on, where does it end?! I stronly feel we need ACTION and now. - No more comparing to other areas or second guessing etc but fierce investigative action and would welcome anyone with the slightest idea of how to put pressure on RM now because I feel pretty powerless and taken for a ride over and over again. 😩

I am waiting for FIVE parcels to arrive of which the first was dispatched by the seller on 16th March. Previously back in January RM managed to let me down on three parcels that were never delivered and I was given refunds for by the sellers. Put it however you like but in my opinion this is theft from the businesses and consumers. I am getting prepared for what is likely to happen -and I don't live on an address that is difficult to find for posties at all. Is anyone else on Landells Road missing a number of parcels?? I am SO SO SO fed up with RM, their ineptness is making my blood boil. To make matters worse there is nowhere to reach out to because their phone lines are impossible to get through to. Please someone tell me how we can take action because they should not be getting away with these malpractices.
  9. I was unable to get through to the RM phone number, eventually I saw my postie and addresses the issue with him. He said there had been yet another backlog of when he'd been off the week prior and that he'd check the pile. The following day he knocked on the door to tell me there was no sign at the depot of any of my 3 parcels. I've given up and raised the issue with the companies I ordered from who will have to make an insurance claim and either refund me or use an alternative courier service. Avoiding RM like the plague is the best thing to do..
  10. There was an article on the Mail on 13 Feb that 'uncovered' this alledged fraud: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9257365/Are-Britains-lost-parcels-really-auctioned-eBay.html?ito=email_share_article-top '... 'A Mail on Sunday investigation found hundreds of items purporting to be ?lost post? being offered online, with bidders apparently determined to cash in on a mail system in crisis. Some bundles ? said to be parcels from leading courier firms as well as Royal Mail ? are going for more than ?1,000. Using hashtags such as #mysterypackage, the resellers can be found on sites including Facebook Marketplace, eBay and Gumtree.'...' When I subsequently did a search myself on Ebay for 'missing Royal Mail parcels' I got dozens of results all showing images of piles of labelled parcels similar to the pictures in the article. Can't see much of them now and the link to one particular one that I sent to a friend on WhatsApp has now expired. Given that a number of my parcels have vanished (all RM) into thin air (one product was even sent out twice about a month ago and neither surfaced) and aside from the Ebay listings scenario I can't help but wonder what actually happens to post that is never delivered; The article goes on that '...Royal Mail happily admits that, like its rivals, it sends some undeliverable items for auction One source suggested that, before lockdown, it was dispatching ten lorries a day to auction houses such as Biddle & Webb in Birmingham, Wellers in Guildford, Surrey, and Simon Charles Auctioneers in Stockport, Greater Manchester. And it?s clear there are times when things go wrong with deliveries. Take the case of St Peter?s Church in Suffolk, which ordered ?8,000 of silverware to celebrate the Eucharist at its family services. Church members were dismayed to learn that one of three precious packages in the care of Royal Mail had ?disappeared?...' Call it overly suspicious and far fetched but if after weeks/months of sitting at a depot and with insufficient staff to clear back logs it does strike me as an easy option to ship the 'undelivereable' lot off to auftion. I mean, I was told by a postie last week that his colleague who covers my street wasn't working that day and whenever he's off they struggle to cover for him. This suggests to me that they must be forever lagging behind with post. I actually received post today, who items that were ordered well after the three parcels that have gone missing. Does this mean they just haven't got them (anymore?), or that my postie just grabs stuff of a pile but never gets down to the bottom of it?
  11. I've been waiting for three products ordered online for over a month that I know were shipped with RM and am starting to think I will never see them. Job lots of 'missing post' are being auctioned off on Ebay which is apparently happening all the time and I am furious to think that this theft is now common practice. I'm not saying this is what happens in ED but I do wonder what happens to all that undelivered post that must be piling up at the depot and is never taken to the rightful recipient?!
  12. Yes, it's been ongoing for a good couple of hours and alternated with screams from some fox like animal. Such a nuisance. I don't know who would keep their dog outside all night and not do anything about the constant barking..
  13. Missing cat on Landells Road. If anyone has seen our Koda please get in touch! He can?t leave the back garden so we think he may have escaped via the front door or the bathroom window and is likely to be hiding somewhere.

  15. I?d also like to endorse Oven Rescue South East London. Having reached out to him on Facebook only this morning, Stefan got back to me straight away and booked me in for an appointment on the same day. He did a stellar job and our double oven looks as new! He also replaced the faulty light of the main oven which I?d forgotten was even there. Although I had some initial reservations about paying for a proper oven cleanse, I have been left more than convinced this is a service worth leaving to a professional -see the attached photos for evidence!
  16. I would like to recommend Liz Riley, a Peckham Rye based photographer who deserves a mention on here because her work is truly fab and every woman in South East London should have her picture taken by her. Not only is Liz very professional and talented at what she does, she's incredibly likeable and makes you feel instantly at ease, even if you're the camera shy type like me. I had such a fun time doing my shoot in Greenwich with her and am very pleased with the results as well. If you find that you struggle to look your best in photos (like me), have always dreamt of some proper magazine worthy pics of yourself but never thought you'd cut it, or if your in the need of some professional shots for your business, definitely pop Liz a message to see what she can do for you. Her details are on http://www.lizrileyphotography.com/ Thanks for the fab work, Liz! x from a happy customer :)
  17. I can highly recommend Crown Joinery (www.crown-joinery.co.uk, [email protected]) Alex and his men have built and fitted us a great quality front door. Friendly and professional service throughout and the price came to about half of what the London Door Company would have charged us for the same product. Alex kept us up to date about the progress on the door and we were welcome to pop into the local workshop to see how they were getting on at all times. All in all we are very pleased with the result and enjoyed Alex' good chats too!
  18. I had a series of refresher lessons from Nick. Having not driven for years and with no previous experience driving in the UK let alone in a busy city I was worried that I would have had to learn to drive from scratch. Nick quickly rebuilt my confidence and within a few lessons I was able to drive around my local area and further afield. Nick is an extremely chatty and parient instructor who helped me to eliminate any feelings of anxiety thanks to his very positive and encouraging attitude. With years of experience he is extremely knowledgeable about the area which is advantageous when learning to navigate around East Dulwich. Being new to the area myself it also means that I walk away with a list of shops and restaurants to try out as well. Thanks very much, Nick!
