Hi I know this is an East Dulwich forum but sadly we have recently moved out of the area to Beckenham and our wonderful cleaner was unable to come with us. Beckenham doesn't have such a great forum and I haven't found a mechanism to find a new cleaner as yet....so just in case there are cleaners who live / work in Beckenham / Dulwich area I thought I'd give it a shot! Hi I would like to recommend our cleaner who is now going to be available on a Friday morning in the east Dulwich or Dulwich area. We have used her for 5 years and she is honest, trustworthy and totally reliable. In 5 years she has only been off sick once. Unfortunately we are moving out of the area and she is unable to come with us otherwise we would take her! After school costs are ?10 from close of school until 4.45pm; then I think it is amounts to ?20 (total) until 6pm. There is also a 5.30pm option but can't remember cost. However if you know you always need one specific day you can book at the beginning of term which works out cheaper. Same for breakfast club which I think is approx ?5. I'd give the school a call and ask them.

In principle I agree - cyclists should not go on the pavement. However, I admit I do occasionally go on the pavement and I would love the "right" solution. I cycle with my 6 year old to school sometimes and have to go down East Dulwich Grove to the village, or alternatively I go down Court lane. I need to be close enough to my son to shout out reminders, to be "aware of cars coming out of drives" "beware of people" etc etc etc ...... and sometimes there is no space alongside the curb because the cars are so close to the pavement. Sometimes you have to go near the middle of the lane if you are going straight ahead at a junction - because if you stay by the pavement you risk getting hit by cars turning left. SO - for those of you who are experienced cyclists or just knowledgeable I would love to hear the solution. Yes, some of us are mummies who do not want to commit a crime,,,,but equally it would be nice for the kids to cycle to school and for me to feel they are safe. And to add to the debate....my husband has a hand bike (he is a paraplegic) and he has experienced much abuse from car drivers about cycling on the road! So who knows what he should do?

Hi We've been to Thailand with both of our children (when my daughter was 8 months and son aged 4) - had a couple of days in Bangkok and then went over to Koh Samui. I love Thailand - have done the backpacking thing and also just normal holidays. Brilliant place with children - people are kind and helpful. You can often get some great deals with Trailfinders - we've ended up with lovely hotels where you buy 5 nights, get 5 nights free. The overnight flight works well......children sleep so less entertaining.

I would highly recommend a carpenter called Tom - his number is 07966 453183. He is tidy, polite - a perfectionist! His prices are competitive but won't be the absolute cheapest but the quality of his work is outstanding.

His attention to detail is amazing and he will do anything you need with regards to shelving, cabinets, furniture etc. He doesn't do "boxing in pipes" though. He lives in South West London but will travel throughout the South. You are welcome to PM me to pop round if you want to view his work. He extended our kitchen units for us and matched it so it all looks as one.

I think it's a shame that G&B is closing - there is one guy who really knows his wine and is brilliant. As for Starbucks - that is disappointing - the coffee is awful (only for my taste....so not to offend those who like it).

Hi My son goes to a fantastic drop in session at PELO sports ground (Burbage road, SE21 - Gallery road end) on Saturday mornings from 0930-1100. It costs ?5 per child. The coaches are all brilliant and they learn skills and play games. Very muddy. It's finished now for the holidays but starts up again on 12th January. It is run by Kinetic Coaching.

I think Whippersnappers does a holiday club but not sure about ages.... There seems to be a number of nannies advertising availability over the summer or maybe there is an au-pair available...
