  2. > (I would be interested to know where the puddle in your above account was, Mick Mac.) I think it was approximately outside Boulangerie Jade / Oddonos

Tarmac ! I hope not. Considering we have been waiting so long for pavement action, I'd hope we would have a proper paving upgrade. Brockwell park entrance, and Dulwich Park entrance at Court Lane are good examples of where paving can transform an area Considering LL is now a centre for outside eating and drinking its a big opportunity to rejuvenate the shop front to kerbside space - it may need a co ordinated approach between owners and council - I don't know As an example of how it is causing problems, this Saturday about 11am, a little boy, fell off the side of his stabiliser bike a few yards in front of me on uneven slabs, and with his mum pushing a buggy with another baby, and therefore unable to help him quickly I, [ Hero :) ] had to pick him up quickly before he landed squarely in the puddle, but not without him getting quite wet, and this was on a sunny day. Although a flat surface is what we need, something aesthetically pleasing would be a bonus, which will lift the area up a notch. And not tarmac please.
  4. From a quick look it seems all that is really changing is the priority is now carlton avenue rather than court lane. be interesting to see how it works out.
  5. Bromance?
  6. And he's offering "favours" for continued use. [i feel an "oh grow up" post coming our way soon BNG.]

    Tipping

I tip my barber, as I think he's good, but also think he's underpriced, as are most local barbers, so I feel I'm rectifying that.

  11. Its quite advanced in terms of automatically breaking down spending into various groups, restaurants, clothes, travel etc. quite interesting where the money goes. My Barclays Mobile App doesn't do that and id like to see that over a full month at home in the UK.
  12. We used a Monzo card on holiday. all the rage apparently - recommended by martin Lewis for good exrate / low charges etc comes with an app that pings every time you spend something.

  14. Dovertheroad - as a valued ED resident I think you should allow them to sort their own mess out. :)
  15. Draw this afternoon - hoping for Spurs. Could beat them easily I reckon.
  16. Landlines are the way forward. I never take mine out with me.
  17. There are much easier ways to communicate now (than in mid 2000s when this forum was at it's peak) and to keep it to a wide group of "friends".... The format here is certainly dated. No change in 10 years.
  18. Most are active/alive and well on FB.
  19. Sounds about right to me. Painting can be expensive. It may depend on the quality of the surfaces currently, and how much prep work is needed, you could ask them about that. Door painting is more precise work too I'd imagine. Maybe ask for a breakdown of the quote and see what aspects are costing the most, before you confirm.
  20. The Caf? Rouge used to be ok, we had been only a couple of times, but went again a few months ago and it was very tired, I can see now that they were probably winding down. The Real Greek might be ok, will probably give it a try at some stage, have tried the covent garden version, but I guess it's similar fayre to Hisar? I imagine after a few drinks in the Dog, a wander over for some Greek style food/meze might be quite inviting.
  21. The contrast between the spending capacity in DV, and the culinary product available on which to spend that money, must be quite frustrating for some I'd have thought.
  22. Other way round I think AM. They lost 5-0 in the first leg away from home (Artmedia Brataslava I think), and then failed to claw that back in the home leg. It was Strachan's first month or so in charge, so as Rogers' second season there is "no" chance of that happening now. We are a well oiled machine. Interestingly, Strachan's second season he got through the groups and into the last 16, losing to AC Milan by a single goal, Milan then lost to Liverpool in "that" final.
  23. "Not a Cote Brasserie please" .... That's not a suggestion?
  24. 5-0 Boom Back in the game! Looking forward to being in the draw next week.
