  1. There's nothing not to like. I think he is one of the nicest footballers playing today.
  2. Next you will be telling Jah that Spurs did not do the double in 61, he dreamt it all. Don't completely break his heart Declan.

If I can remind you of my team for this year. They appear to be top of the Premiership as we speak....and a favour from Spurs tomorrow could make it up to 5 teams with a chance for the title...

  5. It seems noone I know who supports Liverpool wants him. I'd suggest O Neill will have a break clause in his contract allowing him to move at short notice if any big job does come his way but in the meantime he'll give West Ham his all and I'd like to think he'd keep them up.

For a bit of personal nostalgia I have just found this report: The day Best played in Ballymena for Tobermore United - 1984
  7. Its a 3 mile race and second place is more about the horses it beat in a quality field, I'd suggest Jimmy Nesbitt will be absolutley over the moon. Its a big step forward for the horse and this second place has moved Jimmy Nesbitt's horse from nowhere to the top ten of the betting for the Gold Cup.

  9. Kauto only third and soon to be retired perhaps. Jimmy Nesbitts horse is second and that's a real achievement in a race of this quality.
  10. Thats brilliant. LOL Declan. Poor Jah having to own up to that.......but other than that I enjoyed jahs post. I definately saw him play for tobermore against ballymena in the very early 1980s when George was doing a game at a time for a match fee. Not at his best but I can at least say I saw him play a competitive match.
  11. Will be interesting to see west ham fans view if o neill gets the job. They certainly couldn't have hoped for a higher calibre manager. There will be some who will be snobbish about the o neill style of play but i think these comments often come from the ill informed and i would suggest you wait and see. Ill be following west ham with interest if he does take it . Is suggest he must have been given a huge incentive to take the job in terms of transfer budget as the initial rumours were he did not want the job.
  12. Just to add that local "hero" Jimmy Nesbitt has a horse in the race too being Riverside Theatre named after a theatre in Coleraine.
  13. Kauto Star lined up to win his fifth straight King George today. Short odds but worth a small bet just to be able to cheer him home if he wins. I've been on him at least three of the other times he has won the race.
  14. Td Waterhouse was ny choice when I compared them a couple of year ago. No complaints at all re ease of use etc.
  15. Just a prompt karter.
  16. 100
  17. Of course we would swop. I'm sitting here doing speadsheets. Some things go without saying. The point was whether he justifies a "statesman" role.

I think that is fair. Noone respects an alcoholic, unless he reforms permanently and George was unable to. Like his mother before him, he died an alcoholic.
  19. Football aside, George Best had more charisma than David Beckham will ever have. Beckham has the looks but would appear to have a dull personaity to go with it. He is responsible enough to be chosen as England's World Cup representative etc, but I'm not sure his appointment in this type of role is justified. That was the reason behind the thread. Is the sort of faith that is being shown in him justified? He does not seem to have the gravitas of say Sebastian Coe who does appear to make a very valuable contribution. As for football. He was "good" at best. He could cross the ball and take free kicks.
  20. Blackpool have just reached the top of the big dipper.....
  21. Thanks Belle. Very informative and seems 60k is normal. See a chap called ???? on that thread. Seems a glum sort.
  22. That sounds very reasonable Karter, compared with what I have heard elsewhere eg more like ?50-70k. I'd like to chat about it next time we catch up for a drink. Many thanks. Mick.
  23. Emerson Crane Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Ars?ne Wenger has been named World Coach of the > Decade. > That's a joke presumably? Or was it an all French panel with Monsieur Platini at its head?
  24. Does anyone know the approximate cost of having your side return done? Approx building costs and fitted kitchen costs separate, if possible. Just a single storey side return and sliding doors at end for garden light/access. I'm sure there is a wide variance in how much you can spend, but any experiences would be helpful. Thanks.
