Now I'm not sure why I have such apathy, There are many many people in horse racing who never bet. Owners and trainers mostly. They just love to race horses. For the rest of us the betting might have given us out initial interest but who can deny that todays Kauto v Denman is a massive sporting occaision. I'd say it is of interest to a lot of people who do not normally follow racing and will be the headline sports new tonight.

WeLL - you never know - I have gone for relativley short odds horses with form on good ground so who knows. To be honest if Kauto wins I'll be relatively relaxed about the others. Its my biggest punt of the week and I need it to cover my growing losses.
  4. The cheerleaders really liked the last one RD.
  5. This is my favourite. Especially where Ron Harris tries to break his legs. In fact lots of people try to break his legs, but he rides tackles and moves on.

And I feel really really > really cross about this Yes, its the irony of the whole thing - I agree with you. How can something be seen as demeaning women when its intended to be what women want.
  7. A misunderstanding - I'm going to leave it there.
  8. It demeans women, apparently. Even if they are made by women, with Women and for Women. All very strange.

  10. We all know what he was getting at Woof. He's just a bit more clever than you.
  11. Have backed the favourtie Alaivan in the 1.30 - hoping tomorrow will be a day for favourites as I lack the imagination to delve any deeper. Eradicate in the 2.05 Restless Harry in the 2.40 Kauto Star in the 3.20 Roullez Cool in the 4.00
  12. Deleted as thought someone was taking the Mick.
  13. If I would compare Messi's style of play to any of the great players of the Pele etc era I'd say he is most similar to Best.

  15. Declan - you should know by now that Matthew has never heard of George Best. Or at least refuses to believe he was any good. Perhaps some of the older people on the forum could educate Matthew. Where is Jah?
  16. I have tried to look at the horse racing card for tomorrow but have grown very weary of trying to pick a winner and keep getting distracted by gardening websites. This would never have happened to me 10 years ago. What is wrong with me. :(
  17. But not quite as good as Best.
  18. Don't know if David would agree with these points but seemed interesting to me. Lawn tips used by greenkeepers Are slow release nitrogen fertilisers the norm? and by deep watering I assume he means occaisional heavy watering being better than regular light watering? A rich cover of grass makes it more difficult for weeds to grow in your lawn - I assume this would come from more heavy seeding than is suggested on the back of seed packs? How often should you feertilise for a perfect grass growth with no gaps? He says golf greens are established on a bed of sand for good drainage which might be right - but if you did not have the foresight tp do that then can you water sand into your lawn regularly or how can you improve the sand content/drainage in other ways? If David or anyone knows about this then thanks in advance.

Unless you are talking interest only then part of that mortgage payment will be capital repayment which is paying down your debt on the property, so its reducing your debt.
  20. Messi is fantastic but Rooney has added a lot to his game with his heading ability. I think that has to be admired.
  21. And of course my horse did win on the occaision that I hedged, but a profit is a profit declan and I could do with more of those.
  22. Have also covered Sentry Duty and Katchit.....hedging my bets now - one horse is no longer enough.
  23. Thanks Jah. I suspect this will not be a long thread, but RIP.
  24. As a big defender of the right to have an RIP thread - I feel the Chapel of Rest thread may be the place for some deaths. I have to ask the question - and pardon my ignorance - but who is this person?
  25. :)) Very good...
