Dear Karen, Do rethink how you put your words out there. Cleaning is a profession and a skill - done even by the people who have university degree who sometimes find themselves in certain situations when they are abroad away from home. And in most times even people who have doctorates degrees cannot do the job nearly as good as the ones you call unskilled and undeserving of ?10- ?15 wage. Regarding your illegal status comment- you totally blew your plead for sympathy. So you do not want to pay them the going rate because they are "illegal" and "unskilled" according to your assessment but if they accept the amount you want to pay - then it's okay to hire them. You're twisted and discriminative. I have friends who clean and nanny for a living - they get ?60k to ?70k a year. And they go around the world doing this job. You should clean your own floor with all that dirt and dust and see if you would do that for ?4-?7 per hour. And please post it here with your picture with all smiles after and we'll let you know if you did a good job with your great cleaning skill.

Hi. Could you tell when does he starts picking on his skin? Is it when he is upset, tired or bored? Look for these signs early as if it continues, he may be developing what is called ADD/ADHD. If it persists , have him seen by a doctor. With the thumbsucking issue - there is no better time than ASAP. Be firm and hold your heart strong. As I refused to let both my girls suck their thumb I gave them dummies - they are 2 and 1 year olds - and 3 days now - we have a dummy free house ! I just stayed strong and stood my ground. And it magically stopped... I was one of the lucky ones who got out unscratched. Goodluck to the weaning and I hope your son's skin picking get sorted.

Playing CSI - the positioning of the cars seemed as the blue Mercedez was coming from road side of the library - it may have cut the Nissan which was the car in the middle of the road as it was trying to park in the space next to the surgery. It may have clipped the left side of the Nissan so strong causing it to loose the left tyre - it must be going so fast and furious ! Kudos to the driver of the Nissan as it halted perfectly without sliding or harming themselves. Meantime, while the Mercedez was trying to do a dangerous maneuver, the Mitsubishi which was driving behind the Nissan was actually trying to slide and park at the same spot as the driver probably didn't see the Mercedez coming from the other side of the road taking that space. The impact of their collision damaged another 2 unsuspecting parked cars in the same side.

Nannying wages depends on what the employers can pay. It can range from ?350- ?1100 /week There is no fix amount although sometimes some people base it by area or by the hours. I have a friend who is a nanny and has a single sole charge of a 9 month old baby and is getting ?1100/week net excluding extras that her boss is happy to pay.She works 5 days a week and starts from 9am to 6:30pm.She only cares for the baby and his food and clothes They have a cleaner too. She even has a ?1000 bonus everytime they fly out on holiday. What I mean mentioning this is that don't compare with what others do - just know what you can offer and work around it to have an agreed arrangement and have both parties happy with your set salary. My other friend works in this area of Dulwich - she has a 4yr old and a 2.5 yr old. One goes to nursery -the other one at home.She gets ?450/wk her boss pays her tax.She does tidying up and cooking for the children. She cares for the young one and drops and picks the 4yr old. She lives out. Another one lives in - also here in underhill road. She has 2 children one is 5 goes to school and a nearly 3 yr old who stays home. She gets ?350 *5days/wk*boss pays tax* paid holidays *once a yr ticket paid to go back home.

If you have already thought well and decided what exactly are your needs that has to be met - it is then easier to decide if you are better in having a live in or live out nanny. In my experience, it is better to find help with friends'referral or hire from an agency as they can provide a more reliable choice of people. I can help you find someone if you like. I think that it might be few factors of convenience. There may not be a lot of childminders or nannies with availability on broken days or times in your area. 3 hrs is minimum anyway. Try to ask some mums or nannies you see in playgrounds or playgroups - they may know someone that is available or maybe mum themselves want extra money. x

Convex, this is not easy but doable. It depends on how willing both of you are to make compromise with the "job". I have friends who manage by doing morning and evening shifts - they only see each other at hand overs and weekends.If you both work on a fix 9-5 --- find a nursery that is close to your work. I see some parents on my way to work - at 6:30 am getting on the bus with their toddlers. You can take turns on early morning drop offs and pick-ups too. Sometimes someone has to do the sacrifice. Or as a last resort get a childminder for the crucial 2.5 hours before you get home from normal work hours. Whatever you do - don't push the stress on yourself to be supermommy/daddy if you cannot. It is okay to get help .

I had a cocoon with my Bugaboo Cameleon but I honestly used it once. I had a Maxi Cosi basket/car seat that my baby loved and made my life easier moving her from pram to car especially when she's asleep.To add, the convenience of not having to bring both sets. I just had to buy adaptors but was well worth it. And now I'm stuck with a cocoon that's just taking space.
