  1. One of them jogged right past my 12 year old on Townley Road, dressed in all black and still wearing the balaclava and the blue glove. He then started sprinting as he was being chased by two boys on Lime bikes. They were yelling at bystanders to call the police because "that guy mugged us". The mugger turned onto Calton Ave followed by the boys. Eventually someone at the church called the police for them. This is out of control.
  2. Found Friday at 5:15pm. May belong to a member of the McCaul family. Please call it if it’s yours or send me a PM. TIA!
  3. Would someone be able to install new netting and rail guards on our trampoline? TIA!
  4. Hi all, my fairly new lawnmower has stopped working and I don't know why. Is anyone on here able to evaluate/repair it? It's a Bosch Rotak 34R Electric Lawnmower. TIA!
  5. It is disappointing to see Alleyn's being singled out as the source of air pollution problems in Dulwich. Bad air quality can't be pinned on just the school. Has no one else noticed the presence of builders, plumbers, utility vans etc. during the day? Delivery drivers? No one else use grocery delivery? Or Amazon? We walk to school like many families, but not having a car means we do damage in other ways. It?s a much larger issue than a few extra kids at one local school.
  6. This (almost) happened to me, though nearer London Bridge. I somehow managed to keep hold of the phone, so wondered if I should report it. But the police took it quite seriously and sent someone to take a full statement. I guess they are able to establish patterns and possible offenders with the info? I used the Southwark police website to report the incident. Really sorry this happened to you!
  7. Scourge on the environment aside, I'm afraid if you read the fine print, very little money goes to the actual charity for your clothes when you use house-to-house collection (like ?50 per TONNE!). We are all much better off giving clothes to a charity shop, where the charity gets roughly 50x more for the same clothes. Bags are slightly better than landfill, I guess, but we could do so much better in terms of both recycling and impact. http://www.charitybags.org.uk/charity-shops-versus-house-to-house-collections.shtml [no connection to any of this, btw, other than being appalled when I eventually read the fine print on those collection bags!]
  8. Does anyone happen to know if Townley Road has a WhatsApp and/or watch group? I'm a relatively new arrival...
  9. Spoke to a Met forensics officer who came to my neighbour's house this evening. He confirmed they had tried to enter my garden as well by jumping over the adjoining fence. He said if you see the black BMW again, call 999 instead of 101 as we have clear video footage of the two criminal's faces. I won't reveal the whole plate, but the suspicious person I saw was in a black BMW with registration starting LR12. If you see it in the neighbourhood, please call 999 immediately and say it is a known suspect for recent burglaries. He assured me they will come straight away. Obviously, don't approach them!
  10. Thanks, I did try that, but even the normal form assumes a crime has taken place. Not sure how/where to specify suspicious behavior without an observed crime...
  11. I'm trying to do this, but it's really difficult given the setup of 101's phone and website. Any ideas?
  12. I also saw a black BMW sitting suspiciously on Townley Road three weeks ago (August 4th). It was around 2pm and the occupant was sitting there for 15-20 minutes. I watched him from my upstairs window and eventually did take a photograph, as he seemed to have no purpose being there. He drove off but looked me in the eye as he did. Unfortunately, I didn't report it to 101 as I thought I might be paranoid. But now there's been an attempted break-in next door, so I really should have... Good news is I snapped the full number plate. Will report to police now.

    Sirens?

Seems to be an active evening, with lots of emergency sirens and extra road rage. Any ideas as to why?
