  1. This is just idle gossip and nothing to do with police incident but I parked at the top end of Glengarry Road on Saturday afternoon while the missus ran into William Rose and witnessed what I can only describe as two 'crackheads' - man and woman, buying something from a couple of people in a car. They then wandered off further down that road. 2+2=5 but worth noting.
  2. As promised, my car made it's TV debut in Come Dine With Me last night. I'm so proud....
  3. I get the first train from North Dulwich in the morning to London Bridge and it arrives at 6:10 (arriving at ED at 6:12). It's pretty reliable but I think it probably won't be early enough for you if you've got to be at Gatwick for 7am. As with the previous poster I've got the train from Forest Hill via East Croydon in the past when having to get to Gatwick early.
  4. There should be a Come Dine With Me based around the locale on in the not to distant future. Late last year I went to pick my car up from it's MOT at the Herne Hill garage (next to the Half Moon pub) and had to wait as a 'Come Diner' was doing his spiel about the previous evening and reading the next menu whilst leaning against my car! I tried to arrange an appearence fee for my car but to no avail......I was told the episode would be on in the early part of this year.
  5. Had something similar happen on saturday night in Ardbeg Road. Large group of yoots walked down the street vandalising cars as they went. No nazi signs as far as I'm aware. Looked like some post haloween over exuberance. Called the police and they very kindly lifted the 'print' from my bonnet. Not holding my breath for a result......but if you wear size 8 Nikes beware
  6. Yes, I arrived as the smoke alarm was going off and wondered if I'd done a wrong'un. Fortunately my fears were unfounded. I understand what you mean about being haphazard but isn't that the authentic italian way?
  7. Went last night. Very cheap, very enjoyable food, very nice people. I only wonder why I'm being so gushing.....I won't be able to get a table next time!
  8. I love Hisar. In fact, I think I'm going to again this weekend now. I'm too busy being led by my nose like the bisto kid when I go there to even take any notice of what is written on the sign. Hmmmm.....grilled meat.
  9. Thanks for your help. I've just been out and discovered that the Crown and Greyhound in the village is also a non-ticket affair for all of you who are as disorganised as me. Happy New Year.
  10. Does anybody know if any pubs/bars in ED, the village or Herne Hill that are no ticket on NYE? Was planning to be back at my flat by 12 with my friends but wouldn't mind somewhere to drink for the early part of the evening. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks.
