  1. A lawyer told me recently that the term 'executor' as in executor of a will, for a female the term was actually executrix!

  3. Anything that adds 'ess' or ett/e' to a word unnecessarily is my bugbear, as is 'lady doctor' lady driver'!
  4. It's not only women who blame themselves over an attack of any sort, please don't feel like you have to keep up the 'stiff upper lip' nonsense, speak about it and how you feel either to friends or the nice people on here...take your time being comfortable with coming/going around where it happened. I once walked a woman to her work bus stop every morning after she was mugged, it took around 2 months for her to feel ok with it and this was daylight.
  5. Have to say I hate the word 'comedienne' as much as 'manageress' both defunct, surely she's just a comedian??

Pound shops all seem to do the fat balls etc, Lewisham my closest
  7. Yes totally! Last year the whole office got it, well four people, and this year my dizziness lasted weeks, ended up getting bloods/ears checked out-all ok. It has subsided now, only have the odd one off 'head spin' thank goodness.
  8. :))
  9. Does anyone know Anna, I have something delivered to me for her (we have the same door number)
  10. You could also involve the Anti Social Behaviour Unit for Southwark (SASBU) on 0207 525 5777/ [email protected]

Southwark also has an excellent Mediation service-link here. http://cypdirectory.southwark.gov.uk/AtoZEntry.aspx?id=45 If you want to stay on good terms but still wish to live in peace!
  12. There was a whole online campaign and petition to sign, automatically sending a protest email to Tesco. They sell turtles see this link http://www.tortoisetrust.org/activities/tesco.html womanofdulwich Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Can you tell me a bit more about this story? 13. The only reason I don't use Tesco is they trade in live animals in their stores in China, 'for cultural reasons'...
  14. Last time I had a similar problem and no joy from customer services, I googled the chief exec of the company (it was Teaso that time) amd emailed direct to him, worked a treat. Had call from his PA and compo in the form of vouchers!

  16. Do a search on here for GPs, there's been loadsa threads
  17. owners can't control cats, thats historically why cats didn't need licences and dogs did! As a cat owner, I would struggle to dictate where he did his business, around here it's just a fact of life...I find many things irksome too but that's a thread called grumpy old women!
  18. i reported it yesterday for what it's worth...
  19. The bus stop is open but are the traffic lights still out? At Whateley Road?
  20. Saw them actually working on it today, hallelujah!
  21. I absolutely LOVE this-his observations are spot on, love the way Liz is always picked on, watch it over again to pick up what I missed the first time. My fave has to be when the subject of his crush, the 'sensitive' actor comes to his Grandma's house, I was covering my eyes in painful recognition! I admit he SA is slightly awkward, but that's deliberate surely? Thought I was sadly alone in liking this but no!

  23. No this is definately a kitten who has grown from a tiny thing to a slightly bigger kitten, but still young and thin. It's out all hours and weathers and is not a four year old. In fact it was wandering out last night at 10.50pm and again looked as if it had been out all night as it was there again at 8am.
  24. There is a cute ginger kitten wandering opposite the Mr Lui end of Melbourne Grove, very friendly, seems to be out in the elements a lot for one so young. He has followed me along until I've placed him back into the garden he seems to be from, he was out at 10.30pm the other night. Glittery collar. If he is yours, I'm just concerned. A similar thing happened with an older cat that everyone thought had a home, and it turned out the poor thing was stray and ill. I hope someone can put my mind at rest?
