  1. Hi, I rang most insurers and most would not insure my 18 year old au pair. Direct Line will - be it was ?1500! I just had to pay it as I live in SE26 and my son needs to be taken to school in Dulwich. I was na?ve - it's apparently because you need to be a UK resident for at least a year to get 'normal' rates. The age doesn't help either! I might have to get an older au pair next time!

My Mum is a Child Protection Social Worker and her advice is to use the 'proper' names because it means that if there is any abuse, the child uses the unambiguous term and there can never be any misunderstanding.
