  1. I am afraid that a good part of the problem is current govt and its focus on free schools Expansion of school places to meet increased demand is in chaos

  3. My oldest has a plain bum bag that he uses as you describe. Ideally such a bag could also clip onto a scooter or bike The bags made by mini micro are very expensive Any bag would need an internal zipped pocket to keep money safe
  4. Mine usually attend Avp but have been to hdo. They tried fit for sport and seemed happy but there no were sibling discounts and I found out to my cost that you can't book on Sunday evening, even online you have to book by Friday if you want to send them Monday. Both Avp and hdo can be contacted by email over a weekend, which is an advantage

  14. My 2 yo has always loved to be held and carried, but at the moment he wants to be continually in my arms, and it is hard work. While trying to wash my hair in the shower earlier while holding a naked and slippery toddler, I just stopped for a minute and thought how deliciously snuggly his little body is and how his head just nestles in the crook of my neck. Wont be long till he is long and leggy like the others. He will never again be that little heavy bundle I used to drape over my shoulder or who would sleep on my chest. I think today when all 4 are fighting for a slice of my lap, I will try to stop and appreciate the cuddles for the joy they are.
  15. Thing is, trying to use brute force doesn't save time in the end really. I get so impatient sometimes when my little one is insisting on using my keys to open my car door himself, but wrestling them out of his hand and trying to bundle him into his car seat just ends up taking longer. Needs must sometimes, but I do try just to take a deep breath and go at toddler pace if I can
  16. Margot Sunderland, psychologist and author of 'the science of parenting' speaks of toddler distress tantrums vs 'little Nero' tantrums snd the stages of infant brain development that a child needs before they can overcome the feelings themselves Googling 'little Nero tantrums' comes up with Lots of interesting reading http://attachedparents.livejournal.com/648806.html for eg
  17. Sb, put his clothes handy for the front door. When you want to leave the house allow an extra 15m - when you star getting your coats on he will suddenly want to get dressed and you can do it on the door mat If he still doesn't cooperate, stick his stuff in your bag and let him pick his way down your path in his bare feet
