  1. Simone, research will be at a general level and not reflect your own particular child and nursery. If it feels right, don't worry.
  2. How long has she been with you? Do you think she also feels it's not working out, or would it come as a surprise?
  3. Monkey, mail The practice manager or speak to Lucy Harvey
  4. Minders a bit cheaper Will also often take a child who is slightly unwell On the other hand if the minder is sick herself, there is no cover I had a lovely minder for child no 1 (who then did one morning Pw also at puddle duck) It was like leaving him with a grandmother, if we had had one, and he learned so Much ... She gave him so much 1:1 attention I do think babies under about 18 months look totally confused in nurseries - sharing a key worker with other children and moving out of the baby room to a new key worker often at 12 months. There is research that this isn't the best environment ESP for boys. From aged 2 children do seem to appreciate the nursery setting far more, but even then it could be a long day - a minder will usually take children out to a group or park each morning then spend the afternoon napping and playing at home In a minder's home with low turnover your child will also have older children in the 'sibling role' and as a new mother a good experienced minder can be a source of useful advice and reassurance (I learnt about toilet training from mine and also used to pop round often on days she didn't have him, to show her odd rashes etc!) If you find the right one, it is great. Remember you can get proper references/speak to other families who used her It can Also be a very good solution eventually for wrap around school care/accessing 5 free mornings at nursery at aged 3+ etc
  5. Well I saw the dr ... Who only works Fridays .. And she was lovely and I probably ended up with a 20min plus slot So there is no issue really with the actual Care ... Just the pressure on slots
  6. My littlest is 16m and bf... Has a huge feed at dawn, one before his nap, one before bed and little snacks in between if I am to hand. Otherwise drinks water. Eats well. Just for comparison. None of mine dropped milk much before 2
  7. Can I suggest for anyone who is still carrying so much grief, that you might think about seeing Christine neillands, who does hypnotherapy? Her method really helped me let go of the fear and sadness I had when I was pregnant (hospital phobia and post traumatic stress over my mother's death) and I think it would really be a safe place to let out a little of the pain. It's not like counselling where you have to talk and talk, it's more like handing yourself over to just let it all go, somehow. I can't thank Christine enough and I recommend her whenever I can.
  8. I very rarely go on my own account - can count on one hand non pregnancy related appointments in the 10 years I have been registered there

  12. I suspect that they are a bit muddled about what lactose actually is, but all to the good that it's not deemed necessary for you to stop bf if you don't want to! Would colief be of help? Lactose intolerance usually to do with jack if the lactase enzyme which colief provides ...

It's only cows milk proteins you can prevent passing in your milk by cutting out dairy yourself Sounds like slightly odd advice... Think sometimes the two things get confused
