  2. Coming in to light sleep every hour or so is a feature of the infant brain, and gradually shifts to a more adult pattern by age 2-3 I think
  3. Egypt sharm el sheikh at any 5* all inclusive
  4. I think despite the unrealistic expectations engendered by the baby industry it's absolutely normal for an infant human. Mine all woke several times over night well past that age. Cosleeping had always saved the day, here. If you do want to gradually discourage night feeding, (and I think that's more realistic at 1+) then ssh pat etc is the way to go ... Delaying and shortening feeds or having your partner comfort the baby in your place
  5. Never and any success with child 1 Twins, the minder cracked it when I went back to work at 7m Moral 1: baby can manage without daytime milk if it comes to it Moral 2: sometimes they just accept it once you are out of the frame
  6. If getting on a bus is not an issue you could do worse than the nipper ?300 odd Or mountain buggy duet or one of the city twin models
  7. Maclaren bit wide though and not smooth to push Nipper 360 ok for newborns Is buggy to go on bus, walk, lift in and out of car?
  8. Long way to go for a week though
  9. The bridge near sydenham sainsburys is a very nice pool with shallow steps and lots of toys
  10. Few ideas here http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/whatson/easter-family-events-in-london-feature-roundup-4387.html
  11. Pickle, the sad thing is that it's totally true!! I also find myself lying on their beds wondering if they would move me on if I fell asleep When I am a batty old lady (more than I am already) I will live out my days in ikea. It has all a body could need. And free hot drinks weekdays
  12. I think we all buy into the idea that after 6m 'milk isn't enough' and that iron stores are depleting ... Which is fine, but commercial baby food is clearly not the place to find it
  13. Bit shocked by this, actually http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2125332/Shop-bought-baby-foods-lack-vital-nutrients-essential-growth-protection-illness.html Obviously weaning early may be on to home made food, but the advertising of shop bought food as suitable for 4-6m is all the more unfortunate if it's the case that the solids displacing milk at a key stage of infant development is so lacking in key nutrients
  14. I go to ikea just to sit for a moment in their pristine room arrangements
  15. Anyone fancy sharing a picture for fun? No editing!!
  16. Any clear space in our house seems to be treated as a temporary shelf! The table, in particular, always seems to have toys, clean folded washing ... To eat we have to clear it off before we can lay the table High up surfaces are full of things put out of reach of the little children
  17. You can buy a calcium fortified juice in supermarkets as well Tropicana I think
  18. Thanks all!!
  19. Dg: baby twins singlehanded for a long day is a major undertaking
  20. Thanks! Might try both, over the summer
  21. There are solicitors listed on TAMBA website who specialise
  22. This is the latest on the gluten issue http://www.sacn.gov.uk/pdfs/sacn_cot_statement_timing_of_introduction_of_gluten_into_.pdf I guess your attitude to these matters will def be affected if you have a potential allergy issue or coeliac disease, or past experience, good or bad, of 4 or 6m, based on the practicalities or any health issues that arose

Is that really the case though? There was a letter in the bmj highlighting from the existing body of evidence anything that leant towards 4m, but the new research underway at guys into allergy is a study that has begun to recruit but will run for several years I researched this very thoroughly just last year, due to my own family history and didn't find anything at all to say 6m was a problem, while 4m is controversial at best
  24. AnyOne familiar with the different castles ... Would like to visit one this weekend maybe
