  2. Books with push buttons/flaps Books to read to him .... Gruffalo for eg Magnetic cars .... Think elc hsve a set of 3 half price ATM
  3. I did prefer to avoid mercury in vaccines for my first child ... I have got less fussed since then, mind you! I think it will turn out to be a complex interplay of genetics, pollutants of various types, issues affecting gut flora (birth mode, feeding method, age of weaning, not too early, introducing foreign proteins while still being breastfed) I suspect the link to antibiotics and paracetemol is more link than correlation - a child destined to have asthma may have courses of both when young due to being prone to infections
  4. How much did it cost please, renata? And how frequently is dog poo picked up there? It's full of it :-(
  5. Try calling kings and see if Clare kedvers is back
  6. Yes, i suppose if you are going to introduce a specific routine, best make it one that is easy for others to replicate, if you aren't planning on being a SAHM. She will adapt to a new routine in time, though
  7. That link I ppsted re gut flora and CS was about women who had a history of atopic disease, the lack of normal colonisATION OF THE GUT AFTER BIRTH due to no vaginal birth... I am sure there are factors which affect different sections of the population ... genetics play a part
  8. I actually did have cows milk protein allergy which clearly was due to not being breastfed (for long, premature baby, long story, my poor mum did her best!) so I have always been very interested in the stuff about introduction of foreign proteins before clsure of the gut...
  9. Well i suppose you could consider the small claims court or your home insurance?
  10. Either consider a nursery quite far away, delay your return to work Or reconsider re the child minder option Can you fit your work into a short day, term Time only? Those sorts of nurseries might have shorter waiting lists

  12. Is it lecithin that helps prevent recurrent blocked ducts?
  13. Issues with the gut, most definitely http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0091674903015410 (possible link with CS!)
  14. Lack of exposure to sunlight is a possible factor too I read an interesting article not long ago that listed the theories currently under investigation
  15. Having had two babies naturally with no pain relief at all and two with syntocinon, I wouldnt try it without an epidural (twin 2 I had just gas and air, latest baby I had a failed epidural) More than enough of that bloody drip to last me a lifetime! Mind you the Prostin gel is a Bit uncomfortable too C Having had baby no at 41+4 no induction Twin 1 just after hVing waters broken (born in 3h) Twin 2 waters broken and synto Latest baby had the whole works, Prostin gel, pessary, waters broken, synto and epidural (took from Monday- Saturday) I feel I have experienced most angles! I think
  16. It's worth thinking through what your 'limits' are likely to be (depending on the reAson for induction and any special factors) My main concern has always been to be be able to stay upright and mobile (I have been induced twice) so wanted to avoid the drip if possible as continual monitoring is needed then If things are favourable (bishops score) then breaking the waters might be easy, and all that's needed to start you off If things aren't favourable, it's good to have prior warning that it might not work
  17. Soft play - little rascals Bellingham Or Peckham Pulse
  18. Nobody is obliged to accept it at all Each provider chooses whether to register, if they do then they must abide by the rules .... It must be possible for a child to attend just 15hours, term time, totally free I doubt many private schools are registered for it
  19. They're 2010
  20. You can't psy for an individual room When I was pg a year ago we met with the manager of the post natal ward and consultant midwife snd had it Agreed dp could stay with me if I needed him (hospital phobia) - they managed to put me I a separate room for all but one night, to facilitate this (Although in the end I had well over a week as an impatient before and after the birth for vsrious reasons, I msbGed on my own for all but the first night of admission) At that time, men were not allowed pm The main ward overnight
