I feel a bit churlish, but i really wish it had been left as it was. A bit of an own goal I think and a step back for the one o'clock club -

That Makes it all the more depressing that there seems to have been Insufficient thought given to the impact of the decision... Do you have any background to the reasoning behind truncating thd space allocated to the one o clock club? I guess the lack if seating in the New area is cost driven too? What age group is the new equipment aimed at, please? Thanks -

Gavin is it possible to confirm how much a fence would cost ... And how much the metal pillar thngs cost? I find it odd that a fence, to keep children in and dogs/poo out, isn't seen as an essential feature -

?120k could hsve been used so well Silly thing is I looked at the plans, though they were not very clear, and didn't twig However the situation could be saved by moving all the fences -

If the gate between the two I'd to be kept bolted, why was it installed? Children will just go in and out of the other gate Nyway on that case That gate isn't easy to watch One of my twins was let out twice today by older children Major stress -

These should be > resolved by the end of next week. I meant the budget OUTTURN as shown on the link I posted, where data is shown only for 2006-9, please 'We are required under section 52 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 to prepare an outturn statement after the end of each financial year. Section 52 gives the Secretary of State power to make regulations prescribing the form of these statements, their content, timing and manner of the publication. Regulatory provisions directly affecting the content of section 52 Outturn Statements are also made in the School Finance (England) Regulations 2008. Purpose of financial statements It is a statutory duty that local authorities must publish their outturn statements as and when prescribed by the section 52 and section 230 Regulations. The statement is intended to: ?Provide schools, parents and others with an interest in education and children services with details about schools and LA funding and expenditure. ?Provide data for the Departmental Annual Report (DAR). ?Inform policy making. ?Inform the Treasury for monitoring purposes. ?Inform Parliament in its role of monitoring the Department's accountability for public funds. MPs ask about school and authority expenditure via the mechanisms of Parliamentary Questions or through the Education Select Committee. It is important that schools forums and others have finance data available to them to inform debate about differing levels of expenditure between LAs and between schools. All local authorities prepared statements to a common format. We must provide a hard copy of each outturn statement to the governing body and headteacher of each school maintained by them if they do not have access to the internet. We must make a copy of the whole statement available for inspection by parents and others in the community at all reasonable times and free of charge. We must make a copy of the whole statement available online which is maintained and accessible by the public. Each school must however be provided with hard copies if they do not have access to the internet ' -
I'm really sad about the playground changes I thought when I first looked at the plans it meant an expansion of the area, and new play stuff and the playground being open to the public when the one o'c club was shut but it's not at all how i expected (did the plans change?) The new area is unfenced, so not very toddler friendly .. and the area let for the one o'c club is tiny but there is a gate out of the one o'c club into the new area while the tap thing for the water feature is IN the one o;c club.. so big children will be coming in and out of the gate for sure.. and little ones will be desperate to get out through the gate the whole time. And the water tap thing, while lovely, being IN the one o;c club is a huge shock if you haven't gone prepared with loads of spare clothes... I can see it getting fenced off in the corner because it's not really 'peaceful mother and baby' I used to really like the old one o'c club even though it was quite tatty Spacious, grass to sit on and baby crawl, shade, fenced in and secure and nothing too perilous so my twin toddlers could play freely. It's lost the things that made it a safe playspace for me. Can the fencing be reconsidered so the play area is enclosed (all play areas are enclosed, surely?!) and part of the one o'c club when it's open?
