  1. Jenny, that's s DIY approach to the nct tea group And I have made several friends from the edf via bilateral house invites - once you have crawling bBies or young toddlers a well baby proofed house is the most relaxing place!
  2. Sharing a shell Dr xargle series
  3. I'm sure a lot of them do, just like I try to be a good neighbour in my road Isn't going to protect a small child from cars, accidents or the rare but terrifying premeditated violence I think we might have to agree to disagree
  4. I posted I suppose because I had such a bad feeling about it. Because my children are a similar age i can't help worrying if something doesn't seem right. I have had the same bad feeling seeing a man pulling a woman down the street by her hair. I am haunted by that little girl In Birmingham who starved to death snd had been stealing food left out for the birds. Don't you think sometimes in Our big cities everybody is too busy, too preoccupied, too embarrassed to do Or say anything even when something quite wrong is going on.
  5. If you have any sense, do not buy any nooks you gear you will Not enjoy reading aloud 1000 times I am deeply scarred by a particular bob the builder annual ... Shudder Mr men Noddy Rupert no!!!!
  6. Thd little girl was hit by a delivery van in an estate ... Having just gone outside that minute Thd little boy I was worried about was not confined to the little playground but scooting around all over an estate which has plenty of traffic Anyway I was worried Having got some advice from a social worker friend I called the police who were very worried and came right away I find it odd sometimes that people here don't seem able sometimes to see what's in front of their eyes and harp back to the days of our childhoods ... In London in 2011 it is not generally considered safe for a 4 year old child to be out playing, alone and I don't really think anybody here would let their 4 yo go out alone or be surprised if the police called round to see them if they did?!
  7. Where the wild things are Going on a bear hunt Gruffalo and everything by same authors Mog Slinky malinki Kipper and books by same author How do dinosaurs eat their food etc
  8. Can't say I have ever noticed baby clothes in the 3 for a quid box innthe hospice shop were 'perfect' But you can surely freecycle them or give away via the edf...
  9. Nl: having gone from being an only child to hSving a house full of babies and toddlers I think he deserves to have some time with us
  10. We always start sorting the twins by 7 unless they have had a long nap, when it might be 730 It can take up to an hour to get them ready, into bed and asleep They can't really manage anything later than that Baby can't stay awake past 7! There have been no Naps today and baby only had a short lunchtime nap so we atelier waiting now till we can do bedtime We did it at 6pm yesterday too Big one stays up till 930 sometimes at weekends If he isn't being irritating and whining He deserves a bit of time after the toddlers have been banished, I think
  11. The tragic incident with the three year old killed by s delivery van was only s short distance away http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1242671/Careless-delivery-driver-accused-running-killing-year-old-girl.html I am afraid a pre schooler just cannot be considered Safe playing alone in an area where there is traffic
  12. I havent had good experiences of the southwark call centre and admissions but I don't think soc Servs fails the same way
  13. Between 7 and 8 for all of them in the week, later for the 8 yo at weekends
  14. I don't think that will be the case if you call social Services and report it as s child protection concern
  15. Give to charity or ask if any nursery would like them for spares? Or give away free on here
  16. Listed here and elsewhere as being aimed at children with autism or learning disabilities http://www.southwarkpcc.org.uk/activities.html Presumably there is a demand for a discrete session/possibly the Saturday opening is funded via a disability grant
  17. I had mail conversation at some point with southwark when it was closed recently for repairs and I am sure that's what they said...
  18. We got some online froM Bonusprint or truprint
  19. If you are worried enough about something to post about it on the Internet then you're worried enough to raise your concerns somewhere it will make a difference There have been cases of child abuse where the neighbours knew there was something very wrong in a family but took mo action Imagine looking back snd thinking 'if only'
  20. And I am afrId it's not like thd garden of the flats A garden is enclosed without traffic, strangers etc and you can hear your child if they scream
  21. Citizened I wS discussing it with a senior social worker friend ( in fact I called for advice before ringing 999) I don't know at what age I would let my child out to play with older children if I lived in those flats or a quiet cul de sac Maybe 8 or 9? ( my partner wouldn't even consider it until older) But I really don't think a 4 yo should be out alone Risk of injury Cars And when a child is regularly out by themselves it's exactly the situation where they can fall prey to A premeditated attack Anyway, I feel that the police will gave dealt with it, social services will bs awRe and if there are other grounds for concern then this incident will be added to the record I felt really worried about that little boy, both then and since
  22. Isn't it an autistic pupil session ?
