Hi James If you now click the link the page has completely disappeared and you can't make comments at all!
  2. Interesting, the link for the planning application seems to be removed/unavailable....
  3. agree with Dulwich Fox. And a shame because the pub has been overall a good addition to the neighbourhood. If we can all make are view know on the comments section of the application (see OP 's post) then hopefully this won't happen.
  4. Hi Dulwich Fox, You?be highlighted a really important issue here, perhaps you could comment on this on the planning notice (link in OPs) post.
  5. Hi James, Not sure if you are aware of this but the Cherry Tree Pub wants to turn it's top two floors into a 47 bed hostel?! [planbuild.southwark.gov.uk:8190] This seems an unusual use of the space, and, will only worsen the issue of noise nuisance that the pubs neighbours already suffer. I have tried to make a comment on the application, however, although comments are meant to be made available online - no comments are appearing. Is this something you can help with? Such use of the space just doesn't seem appropriate (or neighbourly) for East Dulwich, is there anything we can do? Many thanks
  6. Has anyone else tried to make a comment on the application link? On the application description it says that all comments will be made available immediately online, however myself and a few others have made comments yet they are not available to view..? [planbuild.southwark.gov.uk:8190] Any idea of why there is no transparency?
  7. Hi Rendelharris, Unfortunately the neighbours of the pub have had some noise issues which fit the criteria for 'statutory nuisance'. I will also say that when there have been issues the management have been apologetic, but it has been an ongoing issue. As there is a tendency on this forum for some rather over heated debates discussing pubs and noise, I am not going to go into fine grain criticism and detail here and reignite this well worn issue as it's off topic for this post. I think overall, turning the space into a BNB is a great idea - as far as I can think there isn't one close by? I don't see a hostel for back packers quit fitting into ED??
  8. The pub already causes noise and disturbance to its neighbours, surely this will only make the problem worse? I agree with the above comments that a b& b type scenario would be more appropriate and neighborhood friendly. Can people please make sure to comment on the application via the link on the op's original post?
  9. Thumbs up for Kanella & Co, popped in there today. Good coffee, great Spanikopita (spinach and filo pastry pie) in a really nice light, bright and comfy atmosphere.
  10. My central heating didn't come on this winter and I called Dave from McHow after reading the excellent reviews on this thread. Dave was over in an hour of me calling him and he fixed the problem immediately. Very friendly, fast and efficient service at a competitive price. I will 100% use Dave from now on and I have no hesitations recommending him to others.
