  1. One Egyptian gosling spotted in Dulwich park today
  2. Lovely, we'll join in at 8pm tonight!
  3. Sadly just spotted three dead Egyptian goslings at Peckham park lake. Reported it to the park warden who agreed it was probably just too early and cold for the poor things.
  4. We?ve seen it too! Surprised to see a cormorant out here - anyone know if that?s normal?
  5. Has anyone seen the young Egyptian geese who were living in Peckham park? There were five of them I think, haven't seen them in a few weeks. Wonder if they've moved off somewhere else.
  6. I don't see as many as I used to either, but there is one that comes to have a snooze in the garden every couple of days. Always brightens my day!
  7. Five Egyptian goslings today, but think the sixth one is gone for sure :( Three Canada goslings, bigger than ever! Haven't seen any ducklings yet but will keep my eyes peeled.
  8. Someone was just banging on our front door and ringing our doorbell at midnight, before trying a few other doors on the street by the sound of things. Might just be an overzealous food delivery, but a bit unnerving when it wakes you in bed! We didn?t go out to check what was going on, but did anyone else experience this?
  9. Saw five of the coot chicks with their parents yesterday evening! :)
  10. Seven fluffy Egyptian goslings in Dulwich Park this evening!
  11. Does anybody know where Rye Lane buses will be diverting to/stopping from tomorrow? Trying to figure out where I?d need to get off for Peckham Rye station, but the SGN map isn?t very clear!
  12. Also saw it this morning! Have posted separately
  13. Cockatiel found in Peckham Rye Common this morning. Just by the pavement, near the zebra crossing to Roy Brooks/Barry Road. No fear of humans, clearly once a pet. Seemed happy just having some long grass for breakfast. Anyone missing this little guy/girl?
  14. Slightly random question, but I have relatives staying in ED when Harry and Meghan get hitched, and they want to know if they can watch it somewhere. Anyone know where it might be on?
  15. Anyone know what's replacing Lerryn's on Rye Lane? Saw a lot of activity (painting etc) there this evening on my way home.
  16. You can buy humane mouse traps online for about ?5. They're a bit faffy, as it's best to travel a bit away from the house to release them. But it's a kinder alternative to a traditional trap. Wire wool in the entrances (if you can find them) tends to keep them out.
  17. Update: Four fluffy goslings are now exploring the area with mother and father goose! http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj571/stapleme/b55d8185-77e5-4457-ab82-5d965f81fc38_zpsdmrmnemm.jpg http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj571/stapleme/ad5907a8-dbcb-4d9b-a97f-4653dbbc6330_zpsahoofce2.jpg
  18. Just wondering have others noticed the pair of Canadian geese that have made a home near the Japanese Garden in the park? They have built a nest on a little island in the water, with father goose keeping a close watch from the water's edge. Does anyone how long they have been there, and if anyone could wager a guess when their egg(s) might hatch? I love seeing them, and it would be great to learn more about them.
  19. Sorry to hear this, fingers crossed you retrieve some items.
