  1. Kindly control your body thetans, young man - this is the Drawing Room. That one sure looks like it's had its ass audited into the RPF!
  2. No one has seriously challenged the premises that underlie my argument so I?ll press on to what I feel is the nub of the issue. The infiltration of governments by religious fanatics threatens to become a serious problem in Europe if ongoing events in Germany are not resolved rationally. Prominent Jewish rabbis have forged alliances with German Scientologists to openly campaign for changes in the law to enable covert mind-control cultists to infiltrate the highest offices of government without let or hindrance. Germany has been targeted, presumably, because it is seen as likely to acquiesce under the weight of holocaust guilt it carries. Following a favourable legal ruling, the right to covertly infiltrate governments by Talmudic Jews, Scientologists and other mind-control cultists is likely to become enshrined in EU-wide laws ostensibly enacted to combat religious persecution. In my view, such an outcome would represent serious compromises to the principles of democracy and freedom of speech and herald the resurgence of ancient superstitions and religious totalitarianism. I suggest that our hard won freedoms are too valuable to risk for the sake of curbing the unbridled zeal of a few deluded pseudo-religious minorities. All that is required is that electoral candidates and government employees be compelled to declare their religious identity - honestly. Scientology in Germany Scientologists wooing the Jews ------------------------------------------------------- Freedom of worship by all means ? but NO to covert government infiltration!

  4. I too would never vote for someone who used politics to further religious aims. You have hit the nail on the head. Ignoring legislation against anti-Semitism and other self-interest issues, which are, frankly, predictable and understandable? MPs who practice Talmudic Judaism have a hidden religious agenda. Judaism is predicated upon the idea that God chose the Jews to impose upon the gentiles the justice and morality embodied within the Seven Noahide Laws. In Judaism, the most sublime aspiration is the performance of mitzvot (commandments) through observance of the Law. They consider that to be their raison d'?tre. That is why they seek out positions of influence within the country?s highest legislature (i.e. parliament) and in the courts, where they have become deeply entrenched in the administration of justice over the gentiles. In order to become parliamentary lawmakers, they have to petition for the votes of the public, mostly white, Anglo-Saxon Protestants who usually know little or nothing about Talmudic Judaism. I have never seen a candidate campaign openly as a religious Jew. Usually, they promote themselves as ordinary secular citizens ? often even denying, disguising or obfuscating their religious identity. Such practices amount to outright deception, in my view. In a religious sense, a Jewish MP is not serving the community; he or she is performing a personal mitzvah - an act of worship. I wonder how many people would vote for an MP who is a practicing Jew if they were aware of his or her religious aims and ambitions? Not many, I would wager. ------------------------------------------ The Jews Relief Act of 1858 was enacted so that Jews could become Members of Parliament, they formerly having refused to swear an oath ?upon the true faith of a Christian.?
  5. I would ask the same question if voters had chosen a Scientologist to represent them. Why does any culturally coherent group choose a representative from a radically different culture with different values and ideals? Such things happen, it is a valid anthropological question: Peru elected a Japanese president and the US elected a half-Kenyan president. It seems acceptable to acknowledge the existence of 'indigenous populations' and 'common heritages' within the various European countries ? a matter of active discussion today on a nearby thread. Britain even has laws that discriminate against royal marriages to Catholics. But whenever the Jews are mentioned ? the EDL and the NF are invariably invoked. It is almost a Pavlovian reflex. I see little difference between (practicing) Jews, Muslims, Christians and Scientologists - they are all deluded in my opinion - I would not trust any of them to represent my best interests. I think all of them can be relied upon to pursue their own religiously motivated agendas. YMMV ? that?s what democracy is all about. Frankly, I am surprised that you've played the anti-Semitism/fascist card - it's all in your imagination.
  6. Are people really unable to discuss the religious demographics of their own parliamentary representatives for fear of uttering the "J" word? That would be an appalling situation, in my view. Some things need to be discussed openly. For example, if the majority wishes to avoid being dragged into a yet another Middle Eastern war (with Iran, this time) or imposing sanctions on potential new trading partners (such as any of the new Arab democracies that some might perceive as anti-Zionist). If a Jew or a Muslim or a Christian stands for parliament then voters should be able to discuss their religious persuasion as freely as they can discuss whether they are toffs ? there can be no democracy without freedom of speech. Personally, I?d only ever vote for an atheist or an agnostic - as long as s/he wasn?t a toffee-nosed palooka.
  7. Does it matter though what faith someone is? At some level, it must do, surely? Imagine the consequences of an English parliament top heavy with Scientologists or Taliban or Lubavitchers? Britain boasts its own, unique, autocephalous, state-sponsored religion - it is a nation founded upon Christian principles. Aren't church and state supposed to be separate in the UK anyway? Er... hardly. The Head of State is also Head of the Anglican Church - and 'Defender of the Faith'. Personally, I cannot foresee a time when parliament hosts 200 Muslim MPs? But the same proportion of Jews is unremarkable, apparently? Why is it that the indigenous population cannot find someone with a common heritage worthy of their vote? Do they really have such little faith in their own leadership capabilities?
  8. Are you having a laugh or what - you of all people should know how to cook risotto, surely? For Italian-style risotto, use a high-starch, low-amylose (polysaccharide) round medium or short grain variety such as Arborio, Baldo, Carnaroli, Padano, Roma or Vialone Nano.
  9. There's a local chap called who knows a thing or two about cleaning chandeliers. Good luck.

  11. I think the author of the quoted article could have written "proportional share" rather than "proportional entitlement," to more accurately convey what he meant to imply.
  12. Talking of representation - is this a PC elephant in the Drawing Room or an interesting anomaly worthy of discussion?: Sabbah Report Jews are 8 times over-represented in UK parliament by Stuart Littlewood on May 22, 2010 The Jewish Chronicle has published a list of Jewish MPs in Britain's parliament. It names 24 - Conservatives 12, Labour 10 and Liberal Democrats 2. ... The Jewish population in the UK is 280,000 or 0.46%. There are 650 seats in the House of Commons so, as a proportion, Jewish entitlement is only 3 seats. With 24 seats they are 8 times over-represented. Which means, of course, that other groups must be under-represented, including Muslims. The UK's Muslim population is 2.4 million or 3.93%. Their proportional entitlement is 25 seats but they have only 8 - a serious shortfall. If Muslims were over-represented to the same extent as the Jews (i.e. 8 times) they'd have 200 seats.

  14. For the sake of accuracy: Cameron: "He is being tested and he is showing that he is weak, left-wing and irresponsible." Milliband: "Unlike him, I?m not going to demonise the dinner ladies, the cleaners, the nurses. People who earn in a week what the chancellor pays for his annual skiing holiday." Quoted from the Financial Times It seems reasonable to assume that Milliband had meant to say, "People who earn in a year ...".

  17. Racism is part of a spectrum of instinctive behaviours that underlie human evolution. It prevented societies based on fierce inter-tribal hostility and cannibalism from disappearing in a self-destructive feeding frenzy. Our cannibal ancestors were able to eat neighbouring tribes because instinctive racism enabled them to draw a distinction between ?us? and ?them?. It was a very successful survival strategy that made us what we are today. Evolution has yet to catch up with civilised, ethnically diverse societies.

  19. As far as I can see, the cited amendment has not changed the minimum capital requirement for public limited companies. It merely amended the original legislation dealing with five yearly revisions in line with prevailing economic conditions. I would guess this amendment pre-empts a reduction in the minimum capital requirement in due course. Coincidently, at the moment, UK company legislation requires public limited companies to incorporate with a minimum capital of ?50,000, a figure that could be revised downwards by quite a wide margin as things stand.

    Shale gas

I must have clicked on one of the links in one or other of the original articles cited above. I cannot recall which one now. This article confirms the 5.6 trillion cubic metre figure: Cuadrilla claims game change in UK shale gas reserves It looks like the simple task of typing eleven zeros defeated me. I thought my figure was too good to be true - yours suggests it probably is a colossal pile of horseshit. Google reveals quite a few concerns about the credibility of Cuadrilla's reserve estimates. ETA: Just discovered that the cube root calculator I used only accepts 10 digit inputs, hence the dropped order of magnitude :(
  21. Actually, the blood of a healthy mammal would normally be aseptic - i.e. free from bacteria and pathogens. Judaism harbours an obsessive fear of blood-borne ritual pollution that likely originated when the practice of animal sacrifice was its principal form of worship. According to my hypothesis, those who 'designed' the tenets of (rabbinical) Judaism chose an isolationist path to prevent the congregation from socialising, interacting or identifying with gentiles. Thus almost everything commonly practiced in the Greco-Roman world was forbidden to Jews. The Talmud proscribes the study of foreign languages, philosophy and literature, for example. (Although, only the most Orthodox adherents take any notice of those rules today.) Strictly observant Jews cannot eat food prepared or even touched by or merely left in the unsupervised presence of a gentile (in case it is secretly dedicated to an idol, the sages declared). In short, ritual pollution serves a far higher purpose in Judaism than practical food hygiene. Some Jews regard its study as a ?science?. [ETA] Its main purpose, originally, was to enable Diaspora Jews to retain their ethno-genetic identity while forced to live within gentile societies after they were banished from Jerusalem and its environs following the unsuccessful Bar Kokhba revolt of 132?136 CE. [/ETA] Islam inherited what amounts to the Noahide portion of the 613 mitzvot (commandments) of Judaism, which includes a ?lite? version of the dietary laws. No offence intended to adherents of any Torah-based religions, by the way.

    Shale gas

The raw data (5.6 trillion cubic metres) is cited by Cuadrilla in the OP's link. Its cubed root was obtained the lazy way via an online cube root calculator. Nothing more to it.
  23. We can't say that with any scientific credibility. We do not understand how consciousness arises from our gloopy brains so how can we say anything about how it might or might not emerge from a synthetic or non-biological substrate?
  24. It is Jewish history that claims the ban dates from 1470-80 BCE. The archaeological evidence contradicts that view along with almost every other claim found in the Old Testament. Most scholars now accept that many of the fundamental principles of Judaism (as we know it) were invented by rabbis during the period when the Mishnah was compiled - sometime around 200 CE or later. If that is the case, the extant written Torah must have undergone a final redaction around the same time. And that, of course, forces the earliest possible dates for LXX, the NT, Josephus, et al. Jewish scriptural history is largely a work of fiction overlying a shaky historical framework that took its present form sometime between 200 and 600 CE - probably, as far as anyone can tell so long after the events.

    Shale gas

I've done the calculation just to gauge the size of the gas reserves: 5.6 trillion (5.6 x 10^12) cubic metres of gas at one atmosphere would occupy a cube approx. 1,775.8 metres per side (i.e. 1.77 cubic kilometres). That is a lot of gas - it's a bit like squeezing sh!t from a rocking horse! ETA: I meant to say '(i.e. 1.77 kilometres cubed)'. The figures should be 17,758 m and 17.75 Km - see later posts below.
