  2. Balham (train from forest hill), Clapham South (you can get the 37 to clapham common and walk down, or train to clapham high street from denmark hill/peckham rye and bus it down the high street), Clapham Common or Bromley are probably the easiest to reach from the various parts of ED. http://www.hmhair.co.uk/find-a-salonbook/
  3. Headmasters - me day mondays ?95 cut and highlights, colour me tuesdays 30% off colour and ad hoc colour sales (like the one starting on 27 July). And if you go mid week day time you get another 25% off on top, if you join the HMclub. X

  5. Hi Adam, Duck breast in a baking tray, fat side up (you may want to trim some of the excess skin/fat off the ends. Score the fat three or four times across the breast so deep that it just cuts a little into the meat. Honey, soy sauce, salt, pepper, chinese five spice, chilli and ginger on top Oven at 180 for 15 - 20 mins Serve with mangetout/pak choi/other crunchy green veggies A

BBC news: "ICC seek gaddafi arrest warrant". Not only is he killing his own people but now he's causing trouble at cricket matches.
  10. Hi I've seen a few peiople post about this so adding mine too. White specilized dolce road bike and grey ridgeback hybrid stolen yesterday from near the underhill road/lordship lane junction, yesterday. If anyone sees them I'd be very grateful. X
  11. You chose a bike and accessories. You request the bike or a voucher fir the cLue from your employer. Your employer pays the bike company for the bicycle you have chosen (capped at ?1000). If your employer is vat registered, they then deduct 17.5% (because they can reclaim the vat seperately) and then the outstanding balance is deducted in 12 equal instalments. As mentioned above, it's deducted before you pay tax and ni so you save either 22 or 40% tax plus 1% ni. The bike remains the property of the employer at all times. This is important because hire purchase schemes aren't eligible for salary sacrifice but hire schemes are. Generally what happens is that your employer chooses to dispose of the bike and you take it off their hands for a nominal fee. But that can't be agreed in advance and committed to writing. So in practice; value of bike = 1000 cost you pay = 825 (the remaining 175 is the vat reclaimed by company) monthly sum before tax and ni = 68.75 how much that monthy sum would cost you in salary if you were paying it out of your pocket after you'd been paid; 116.53 (40% tax plus ni) or 89.29 monthly saving to you = 47.78 (if higher rate tax payer) or 20.54 (if lower) hope this helps. The evans website has quite a good savings calculator. A.
  12. 1.05 miles according to my handheld sat nav. A.
  13. I intended to compete last year but some pesky family engagement intervened. Particuarly disapppointing given the strict training regime I'd been following. Is fancy dress compulsory?
  14. Hi, That's really near me. I live off Underhill between Melford Rd and Lordship lane. I moved in March and either cycle which takes me 30 mins to Bank, or when its bad weather take the train from Forest Hill which thankfully now takes Oyster PAYG so I dont have to queue for a ticket every fluffing time. Getting to FH station you can either walk over the hill past the Horniman which takes about 10 mins or hop on a 176, 197 or 185 bus which are normally quite frequent. I personally think its a great place to be located (though I am clearly biased) as you're near the park and being connected to FH is handy not only for getting into town but also to connect to East Croydon which is a major hub to lots of other places. And its going to be on the East London line. The only downside is that its a zone 3 station where as East Dulwich is zone 2. The Plough at the Barry Rd/Lordship lane junction is also a rather nice pub in my opinion. Anna.
  15. Howdy, I am also a member of Dulwich Park Runners, having joined in April (although shamefully haven't been for a few months due to mid-week work committments out of London). Lovely bunch of people varying running abilities. I didn't get into London (again!) but am running Paris on the 11th April so will be joining DPR's training runs in the new year. I would also vouch for the tee-total approach, not only for losing weight to amke the whole running experience a little bit easier, but also to enable a clear head for those weekend morning runs...not giving up till after xmas though. Anna.
