  1. My bike was stolen tonight, around 5.30 to 6pm. It was locked up outside Hindwoods, looks like they used a metal grinder / cutter to go through the lock. Light Grey Trek FX2. I literally left the bike for 30 mins as I went for a haircut. Don't suppose anyone witnessed anything, it was pretty busy and very visible from Goose Green and the EDT. Thanks
  2. It looked like there was blood on the pavement outside the Palmerston as I drove past just now- lots of police there and they have cordoned the area off Does anyone know what happened?
  3. Not temporary sadly- these have been blocking the pavement for 2 weeks now...
  4. Is anyone else getting fed up with builders leaving their rubbish on the pavement or even road outside the houses that they are working on? Apart from being dangerous- bits of wood with nails sticking out, sheets of single glazed glass, old toilets & rubble bags filled with bricks- they are physically blocking the pavement. Anyone old with a walking stick, in a wheelchair or with young kids & a pram has to walk into the road to get past If the house owners (who are aware that this has been left outside & clearly don't care- don't get their builders to remove it, is there anything else that can be done? Clearly they could pay someone with a van to come and collect it, or even take it to the tip themselves... We have called the council to pick up stuff that has been fly tipped on corners in the past, but I don't see why our council tax should pay for someone elses home improvements As well as being dangerous, it also looks really horrible...
  5. In todays Sunday Times apparently; 'Southwark levied ?2.5 million of camera fines in three months from 2 schemes- the 1 in Dulwich Village generated 22,424 fines in 7 weeks. These are generally ?130 each or half that if paid within 14 days' Does anyone actually still believe that these LTN's, road closures, cameras & parking bays/meters are for anything other than making money for Southwark council?! Are we going to let them carry on treating us residents like idiots? Put up not anti Road Closure poster, fill in the consultation & get involved otherwise we will all be accepting this nonsense
  6. Don't forget to fill in the Southwark 'consultation' on the Dulwich LTN road closures/traffic cameras/fines etc Link is here- https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/dulwich-review/ Please urgently share with your friends/neighbours etc too Last chance to get these money making/polluting measures removed...
  7. So what happens now- after yesterdays ruling in Court? What do we need to do to keep the momentum up and what do Southwark have to do now?... Lets focus on getting these LTNs removed and not bickering over stats (!)
  8. Traffic sitting in endless queues due to LTN's, narrowed roads, ridiculously wide cycle & bus lanes- spewing out more pollution than they would be if they could just drive. It is no surprise that people are getting irritated and there are more accidents. What ever happened to designing roads so that people could actually get somewhere on them? Or is that an old fashioned idea?...
  9. Thanks so much to Legalalien for putting this together- it is a total minefield trying to find out all of the information via Southwark's website Why doesn't that surprise me?...
  10. Has anyone seen the new petition on the Southwark website- calling to remove the road closures but suggesting camera controlled permit schemes instead... Not sure why we would want this- obviously the reopening of the roads is good but why would we want to have to pay for the privilege of using the same roads that we could use before for free?! I am sure Southwark would love it though- lets be honest, this was always just a way of fining people for mistakenly driving into the new camera controlled zones Don't fall for it http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx?ID=500000057&RPID=774218585&HPID=774218585

  14. ---?10--- H&M kids chinos navy 12-13y Brand new, never worn, still has a label attached. ---?10---
  15. But this is for Melbourne Grove not Dulwich Village closures...is there no petition for that as it is totally separate? If not, please can someone set one up?
  16. Still no petition to stop the road closures in Dulwich?...
  17. Meanwhile, is there a petition that we can all sign to show our dislike of what the council have snuck in the back door?! Other boroughs have had their bollards removed- why aren't we doing the same?...
  18. If you set one up I will be the first to sign up Serena2012! Residents in other council wards across the country have protested & stopped this nonsense so we need to do something now otherwise they are going to create misery for anyone that has to drive for work/because they don't want to risk Covid on public transport!!
  19. Has anyone set up a petition yet? I can see that residents in Wandsworth have done one for the same reason on Change.org Just found this on the Turney/Burgage Road Residents website- so please contact James Barber on here if you have experienced anything unsafe? No doubt school children being chucked out of cars a mile away from schools as there is no longer anywhere to drop them safely will cause problems in a couple of weeks... 'The interventions are under the Emergency Traffic Act and can last up to 18 months and if they are to be made permanent a consultation process has to be carried out. Any intervention can be removed sooner if it is clear that it is unsafe.'

  21. Just a reminder that you can join the people that have set up One Dulwich if you are as fed up with these road closures as us; https://www.onedulwich.uk I travelled from East Dulwich to West Norwood yesterday in the middle of the afternoon (to buy paint so couldn't walk or cycle) It took me 40 minutes to get there and 35 minutes to get back which is twice as long as it would have taken before these ridiculous road closures. I sat in a huge queue of traffic at the bottom of Lordship Lane trying to get on to the South Circular- backed up as far as Court Lane. Then sat in yet more queuing traffic on the South Circular, then the same on the way back. Anyone that thinks these closures are creating less pollution is insane. And this is the quietest it will ever be- wait until the Football & Rugby fixtures start at the weekends, the children go back to school and everyone is unfurloughed and driving at rush hour... Add your experiences to the Southwark map- I am sure the Council will do their best to ignore them so join One Dulwich to make your voice heard too. https://dulwichvillagestreetspace.commonplace.is They are treating us local residents like idiots...
  22. At 6pm last night (during the school holidays/lots of people still not back at work) the traffic was queuing and at a standstill on the South Circular from the Harvester all the way back to West Dulwich train station. Blocking people from turning into or off the South Circular, and stopping people from getting on/off their driveways. What a great way to reduce pollution Southwark Council This is utter insanity! Not only MORE dangerous for cyclists but for anyone trying to cross the road. Or just breath inside their car or on the pavement... More pollution in Dulwich Park and the bus journeys taking 3 times as long for people that don't have cars/are trying to be more eco. Imagine what will happen when there is an accident & a fire engine/police car/ambulance need to get through And when kids go back to school & furloughing is over Join https://www.onedulwich.uk if you think this is ridiculous too Make your thoughts known at https://dulwichvillagestreetspace.commonplace.is/comment You can comment as many times as you like and add comments to areas that have affected you Can someone from Southwark or one of the Councillors explain in detail what type of monitoring is going on, when the facts will be published & when there will be a consultation with the residents of Dulwich & Herne Hill as to whether this is going to be kept/removed? Thanks
  23. If it were a 5 minute diversion nobody would be complaining- it will add an extra 20-30 minutes at peak times. And how is polluting/congesting different parts of Dulwich/Herne Hill an improvement?! Some people have to drive- they can't carry tools etc on a bike. Why are we being constantly penalised- particularly in the current climate when we should be helping business & trade not making it even harder Get real people
