  1. We're getting a nice little 'Europe off the beaten track' going here! Someone else has suggested Lithuania - anyone been there?
  2. Thanks for the ideas so far - we'll look into them - keep them coming in! thanks.
  3. I'd like to recommend Peter Northall who is also a local photographer A news photojournalist of enormous experience, Peter combines candid photography with an amazing eye for detail. His photojournalism approach to photography enables him to tell your story perfectly. Peter specialises in 'environmental portraiture'; photography which takes place in the client's home, usual or favourite surroundings. He also has a 5 month old baby son and daughter in primary school so is very experienced in being around children, and is great with them! 4. Summer holiday advice wanted! We're looking for somewhere away from the crowds by the sea in mainland Europe for a relaxing and cheap(ish) self catering holiday. We've had some great long-haul off the beaten track holidays in the past but want to try something nearer to home - any suggestions? We can go from around 14th July or later for 2 weeks.
  5. Thanks for that info, Administrator- you're doing a great job!
  6. I always find the ED forum really slow to load - by far the slowest site that I go on regularly...
  7. Our son has been offered a place at Graveney School for 6th form as well as at his current school and wants to try and find out a bit more about Graveney. Is anyone else from SE22 going into 6th form next September? We're trying to work out the logistics of getting there from East Dulwich and also hear anyone else's experiences as a pupil or parent of a pupil (or teacher!) at the school. We like what we've seen so far but it's good to get insider info!! Thanks
  8. thanks to all who contacted me- I've found him. It was his credit card which he'd already cancelled before he got my message, so all is sorted now.
  9. 400 views and no sign on Mr Rayment yet!!!!
  10. Mr B Rayment (or anyone who knows him) please get in touch as I've found something belonging to you in Lordship Lane this morning (Sat 9th April 9.30am) Send a PM with your phone no.
  11. I'm glad to have helped boost your total. Our evening event at our place for comic relief was a comedy night with local comedienne Charmian Hughes who was previewing her new show, 'The Ten Charmandments' which she will be performing at the Edinburgh festival and the Brighton Festival fringe - it was a great afternoon at Sainsburys and evening at Charmian's show.
  12. Yes, got the orders, thanks! I've roped in another 3 people, as well. It'll be fun to put faces to the names- see you soon.
  13. Come back, Ladymuck! See you on the Saturday run/jog/slog again soon, hopefully!
  14. Tell him what you want: Staple singers
  15. Thanks for the advice so far. It's not actually acne, just general teenage spots and it's my son who has them. I'd prefer he didn't use anything too harsh on his skin - any suggestions for alternative remedies which work??
  16. Can anyone recommend anything to help with teenage spots/oily skin on face and back? What works best for you/your teenager? thanks.
  17. Has anyone got any good deals when 'pretending' to cancel their Sky subscriptions?
  18. yes you have to put in the freezer for at least 4 days and that should kill the eggs. Also, ironing helps kill them too...
  19. I think they are clothes moths as I'm a textile designer and have found them mostly in storage boxes full of old woollen and silk fabrics..
  20. We have seen several moths flying around our flat recently - any advice on the fastest way to get rid of them? We've had occasional ones before (and also carpet beetles) but never this number. Our flat is open plan with exposed brickwork so it's impossible to 'spray' and companies like 'Rentokill' won't guarantee work because of this. (I hate the smell of cedarwood/mothballs) I've tried lavender and the little sticky boxes that attract moths and then trap them, but nothing has been too effective so far...
  21. My son is in the process of making choices on the A levels he will take next year. He's very interested in art and design but at this stage not 100% sure what area of Art/Design he would want to study. He's keen to take A levels in art and Design Technology, but unsure what 2 other AS/A levels to choose. How do we find out what art colleges requirements are, other than a strong portfolio / sketchbook work? He's currently thinking about either Drama, English, History or Physics as his other options. Do most people still do a foundation course first? Any feedback very welcome, thanks!
  22. Are there any 6th formers at Alleyn's (or parents) who can give us a bit more of an idea about the 6th form, in particular the Art, DT, Drama and English depts...What's the 16+ entrance exam like? We recently went to an open day and it sounds as though the chances of pupils getting in from other schools are quite small as most current year 11s stay on, and the academic standard is extremely high - any comments from anyone with experience of the school would be great - just send me a PM - thanks.
