Thanks DB. For those in her constituency, TODAY is the day to email. It can take as little as 1 minute if you're busy and want to keep it brief. [email protected] Great that Helen Hayes has come out for a 2nd Referendum. The idea that another vote is anti-democratic when TM's deal bears NO resemblance to what was sold to us 2.5 years ago is getting harder and harder to swallow. A whole-scale failure to live up to all those Brexit promises IS anti-democratic.

2nd referendum odds now 13/8 on! ps good day to SEND YOUR MP AN EMAIL if you haven't already. Helen Hayes is backing another vote, but it might be helpful to let Harriet Harman know your views. 'If any agreement is voted down by Parliament, my preference is for there to be a general election - to try to get a Government that can negotiate the best agreement for our country. However, if a general election is not possible, all other options for breaking the impasse must be kept open including a public vote.'
  5. Not sure if this is the right place for this moderator (?) but I would highly recommend Lis. She does podcasts for the Guardian explaining the art of a stand-out CV. She's just been hugely helpful with mine. She hasn't asked me to post here which is part of the reason I thought I might... https://www.giraffecvs.co.uk/
  6. For anyone wanting to email their MP re. a Vote on the Deal: [email protected]
  7. We're looking for a cleaner for 3-4 hours on Thursday and Friday this week. ?12 per hour. We'd prefer to pay someone directly rather than going through an agency! PM me if interested. Thanks!

The above the best possible promo for the March 20th October. Brexit = illiberalisation of British Culture.
  9. Yep - the current 'norms' are the equivalent of an alternative universe in which a 52/48 split in favour of Remain sees Chukka, Chris Leslie etc telling the 48% Leavers that the only route forwards is to join the Euro asap. March on 20th! Resist the nutjob right!!
  10. EU not massively up for 'blind Brexit' either... Can't believe we're talking about a BLIND Brexit
  11. Numbers are going to be tight though, aren't they?

The first People's Vote march made it onto most of the front pages. The idea of a People's Vote has gained a lot more traction since that first march - helped of course by the ongoing shambles, infighting and chaos that is our attempt to leave the EU. Politicians are deeply affected by the public's mood, and public opinion is shifting as the facts become clearer. At present there's no majority in parliament for a Chequers-style deal, or a No deal. And Canada plus is unworkable because of a) the border in Northern Ireland and b) the loss of manufacturing jobs in the UK. The Tories won't call an election. So when the parliamentary impasse arrives, what's the alternative?
  13. Yep, it's no longer hypothetical. Bookies' odds for a second referendum now 2 to 1...
  14. We weren't well informed first time round (crap talked on both sides). We'll be much better informed if a second vote happens. A better informed electorate means better democracy. Theresa May called a General Election half-way through a fixed-term parliament and there weren't riots in the streets...
  15. My son is 6 and I think would be keen. Are you committed to matches every Sunday? Thanks!
