  1. I moved to ID Mobile about a year ago and have pretty good coverage locally now
  2. Does anyone know what is going in where God's Gift was? Looks to be under development. Excited about this. Hopefully a better spot for them. Any idea on when they are expected to be in the new site?
  3. EDT is a stalwart. However, think the Plough and Clockhouse a bit off of the main strip have been around for quite some time too, but changed so much they might as well be different pubs. Anyone remember Sunday night pub quiz at the Magdala (now the Lordship)? At half time, you got a sausage and chips as part of your £2 entry to the quiz. Then play your cards right at the end where you could win the pot of money. Used to be mobbed on a Sunday night!
  4. I remembered what it was called - Black Cherry. It wasn't particularly memorable 😄 Oh my gosh, blast from the past indeed. Loved Springers. Such a lovely restaurant / bar. Was gutted when the owners moved on.
  5. Yes, I remember that! Didn't last long. Can't remember the exact name. Was it where the Vietnamese now is?

  7. Albrighton Community Fridge take them now. Albrighton Community Fridge will now #RehomeYourElectricals! Just bring them to Albrighton Community Centre and drop off at reception Mondays-Sundays from 9am-6pm from 29 April 2024. Donate | Acfridge (albrightoncommunityfridge.org)
  8. I finally tried Dai Due Fratelli last weekend. They were so incredibly friendly. Really good pizzas and a good wine selection. Really reasonably priced. I urge everyone to support it.
  9. Went to Viet Flavours last night finally. For me it is a bit cramped and noisy. Initially, they tried to sit us on the same table as a group of four, which I was extremely uncomfortable with and surprised given that I had booked. Thankfully a couple left as we arrived and gave us their table. The food was quite good, although, my 'vegetable' curry was actually tofu with just one bit of veg. Staff were friendly, but rushing around. Had to ask for water refills and only got half a glass each time. Good wine selection and the house wine, which is a Chardonnay, is very good. For me, the pricing is a little too much for what feels like a very quick meal in a busy setting.
  10. Does anybody know if and when Chern is reopening?
  11. I have used Pishdar on Rye Lane a couple of times. Do on site quickly. Cash only.
  12. Oh my gosh, you were lucky. I live right next door to the school and thought it had struck my house! I watched one of the my windows wobble in the frame.
  13. Same issues. I've just switched to ID Mobile.
  14. Yes, exactly the same experience myself last week. All appointments and messaging closed around 8:05am. It's crazy.
  15. Suggest the Actress on North Cross Road. Plenty of space and good screens.
  16. Outside Bell House in Dulwich Village has a book swap
  17. Yup, they closed down because their rent was increased and they couldn't afford it any more. They did say that they were exploring new premises and to look out for their reappearance in the area but haven't as yet found out if that is happening.
  18. Banh Banh on Peckham Rye Also Kartuli on Lordship Lane
  19. Great news. When are you aiming to open? Nothing in the link posted.
  20. They had copies out in Bell House and Dulwich Village Heritage Cheese yesterday. Probs in most of the places participating.

    Vits and Kicks

Finally made it to Vits and Kicks for a drink last night. Really loved it. Great drinks list and really buzzy, friendly atmosphere. They are soon to rebrand as just 'Kicks', which seems more appropriate. My only negative is that they need to fix the toilet door which I couldn't shut, so was a very quick wee!
  22. Check out the Ramblers. You can search by your postcode and join any walks. https://www.ramblers.org.uk/go-walking.aspx
  23. Another big shout out for Drop Wine Bar on Melbourne Grove. Popped in for a wine on New Year's Eve and ended up spending the evening. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. A really interesting selection of wines with the bar offering changing weekly. Really good snacks to accompany the wines also.
  24. High praise for the new wine shop / bar Drop on Melbourne Grove. Went with some friends Sat evening for opening night. It was hectically busy but the staff were lovely and helpful despite how crazy it got. A wine shop that will give you a wine at a vast range of budgets and really know everything that they sell. Great recommendations and really interesting selection.
  25. Just went to vote and was really quiet. Apparently not a good turn out so far. Hopefully people will go down later.
