Just walked past and they were still there. Thankfully not ranting as much and keeping the filming personal.

Chern Thai still allow byo even though they are now licensed. Also, Thai Corner Cafe. Or non-thai, Persepolis in Peckham. Also, I believe Hanar in Peckham still allow byo. Note that there will be a corkage charge. The suggestion of Amrutha above has no corkage, excellent food and good service when I visited the Earlsfield branch. Plus you can take home leftovers.

That recycling bin isn't there any more unless I have missed it? That one is for good condition items. I just discovered that Runners Need and Cotswold Outdoor have a shoe recycling scheme. Haven't dropped mine in yet but next time I am near one will check it out.

Beautiful button up vintage blue silk dress by Jeannene Booher for Maggy London in size 6. Waist around 23 inches. Signs of wear but vintage silk to be expected. Still excellent condition. Never got the chance to wear this sadly and no longer fits. Hoping for a good home. £20. Pick up SE22 near Alleyn's school.

Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering. This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!

Thanks to everybody for the responses. Agree that £50-60 is somewhat excessive so supermarket is likely to be the route we take.

Well, I know that the topic of cheese is very popular on the forum so figured this would be well responded to. I have volunteered to do the christmas cheese board for my family on Christmas day. Usually my partner and I like to shop plastic free and local but that could end up pricey for around 20 adults. Any recommendations?

Got an alert this evening that East Dulwich Picturehouse don't have any water and had to close. Wondering how long that will be and any other places affected...

I love Village Way. They are all really good in there, but my regular hairdresser is Victoria.

Love Dulwich rebranding as Turkish Restaurant
pikeyed replied to Angell34's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The Georgian is nice for lunch as it's a bit quieter then and better service as a result. You can order a la carte. I have had mixed experiences, but last time I went for lunch, not long ago, the food was delicious and I think it's quite reasonable considering the cost of eating out these days. It's been open quite a while. Don't expect fancy - they have an offer for two pints of lager and a packet of crisps! But it's friendly and I really like the cosiness of the place which has more of a local and independent feel compared to so many places now. Definitely a bar and not a restaurant but the wraps sound good and are good value (although cheaper across the road). -

I think the Italian you are talking about was the old pizza place which is now closed and chicken shop in it's place? There is a nice Thai restaurant called Chern Thai on Grove Vale that should be open at lunchtime Saturday. I am veggie too btw. Peachy Goat in Herne Hill is good, but depends on the ask as it's kinda burgers and pasta and not the cheapest. I tried the Turkish in Herne Hill, Saray, round the corner Saturday before last and will be quiet but the owner is super sweet and it's not expensive. If you are happy with pizza / pasta, you could also do Dai Due Fratelli which is good food, friendly and attentive service at good prices on Lordship Lane. -

Oh, sorry, I thought they were taking over the old Barcelona site opposite the old Harvester? -

Interested what the new Turkish restaurant is near the Plough? You don't mean the bar, Victus & Bibo as I think that is what took over the Le Moulin site? It's a nice bar that serves Turkish wraps. Haven't tried Love Dulwich yet, but been to Viet Flavours. Sadly found it rather loud, squished and a little pricey for the food. -

Went actually for the first time yesterday. Terrific food, so was well pleased. Agree with previous poster to support. -
Fab, I will check that out, thank you Thanks but assume would just go to landfill then if not good condition. I will take a look, thanks

It's not for recycling but for good quality clothes. And sadly always overflowing onto the pavement. Appreciate your response. Ace, I didn't know that. Thank you. Great, will check that out. Thanks for that. I did look on there but it wasn't terribly clear.
