  1. Another big shout out for Drop Wine Bar on Melbourne Grove. Popped in for a wine on New Year's Eve and ended up spending the evening. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. A really interesting selection of wines with the bar offering changing weekly. Really good snacks to accompany the wines also.
  2. Dulwich Wine Society (www.dulwich-wine-society.co.uk) will be commencing their new term on 11th January 2023 with Will Burgess from the Sourcing Table in Peckham presenting 'Modern Australia'.

The Dulwich Wine Society (formed in 1991) meets at 7.30pm on Wednesday evenings, during term time, at The Rosendale, 65 Rosendale Road, West Dulwich, London SE21 8EZ.

At the tastings, a speaker introduces a number of different wines on a theme. In addition to regular contributions from members, speakers include lecturers, wine merchants and Masters of Wine.

The cost per evening is £20 for members and £30 for non-members (occassionally slightly more where premium wines). Membership is currently £50 per term.

If you are thinking of joining the Dulwich Wine Society and wish to sample a free evening before committing yourself to the full session please confirm a space with the secretary, Tim Havenhand, [email protected].

  3. All EDT forumers. Perhaps we could all make an effort as we move into 2023 to post when we hear about events on in and around Dulwich? It seems that there isn't an awful lot posted here any more but there are definitely things happening in local pubs, markets etc. I would truly welcome a revitalisation of this forum to make it more useful. Perhaps we could all participate?
  4. High praise for the new wine shop / bar Drop on Melbourne Grove. Went with some friends Sat evening for opening night. It was hectically busy but the staff were lovely and helpful despite how crazy it got. A wine shop that will give you a wine at a vast range of budgets and really know everything that they sell. Great recommendations and really interesting selection.
  5. Hi Swadesh

How was the film last night? I would have liked to join but unfortunately already had plans. I would be interested in future events. Diary is quite full but it's always non-local! Would be great to meet some locals and do things in the surrounding area when the opportunity arises.

    Keep us posted!

  6. I just wanted to add a huge thumbs up to the Beauty Haven. Really grateful for the recommendations on here. I figured yesterday that I fancied a treatment today as a birthday treat. Rang up and they were super friendly and accommodating, fitting me at short notice. Had a facial, which was the best that I have ever had, including lots of lovely massage. The beauty room is lovely and feels very relaxing. They even managed to fit me in for a manicure also. The prices are the most reasonable that I have come across. They are incredibly pleasant and make you feel very comfortable. I can not praise it enough - will be going back!
