  1. @shoppy17 The council excuse is that they are removing the trees when they are dead or diseased but they should plant one back as soon it was removed. If you look on the high street, for example, the council removed lots of trees and paved over the spot instead of planing a new one - this is not acceptable! They have tree surgeons working on their behalf to cut back the trees in the summer but in my opinion they are not qualified for the job. The trees were cut so badly in the last two summers that they were now leaning to one side and have uneven limbs, all because the branches were cut on one side only, this will threaten the stability of the tree and they will have to remove it as soon as it become a risk! The big question here is... are they doing this on purpose? An interesting point is the one made by dmcd808 that "5G needs multiple receptors and trees are the biggest block to the signal" if this is true it will be the end of the world!
  2. Over a year ago in SE22 magazine Councillor James Barber published an article about more than 3.000 trees been removed in the area and less than 300 planted back, this was published weeks before the last election - does any one has any information about it and what happened with the trees they were "supposed" to plant back?
  3. It's good to know that Helen Hayes is the Member of Parliament for Dulwich and West Norwood, I will be contacting her to find out what she is doing about the more than 3.000 tree cut down in East Dulwich in the last 2 years they published on our local magazine!
  4. I used a cash point machine once and my card was cloned the next week, never again! It's better to use a credit card and even better if you can use Apple pay on your phone. There are lots of shops that won't take American Express but with Apple pay you won't have this problem. If you use Apple play go settings and turn on notification so you will receive a message every time your card is used. This is the easiest way to stop fraud, if there is a problem with the payment you can stop the transaction or claim the money back. When you use a cash card it is difficult and the money will come out of your bank account almost immediately.
  5. The Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The purpose of the Act was to create a criminal offence if a dog defecates at any time on designated land and a person who is in charge of the dog at that time fails to remove the faeces from the land forthwith. Under those orders, a person who doesn't clean up after their dog may face an on-the-spot fine of up to ?80. These fines are known as fixed penalty notices. If a person refuses to pay they can be taken to the local Magistrates Court for the dog fouling offence and fined up to ?1,000.
  6. I congratulate Sainsbury's on their decision not to sell fireworks this year and would encourage others to do the same. My dog panics with fireworks, it's almost like she's having a panic attack :(
  7. Hi, I'm sorry to hear that. Have a look at this post, it might be the same person: /forum/read.php?5,2035079
  8. Hello Goose Green Councillors, It will help if you place big bins in the park in the summer. This morning the park was full of rubbish. The summer after with family and friends in the park has started and people are leaving their rubbish behind and in most case on the ground!
  9. Thank you for your kind message. I do know people in the park who knows the dog and had a great experience when it was a puppy but it seems it all changed in the last year or two. I've decided to make this public because I didn't get any help from the owner when the dog was attaching my dog and I. Believe me it is a terrifying experience specially when you just had your dog neutered and it is the second day out, also I had to stand in one leg holding the dog up and kicking the dog in the mouth with other foot - I was using a leg I had an operation a couple of years ago which took me 6 months doing physiotherapy to walk again! As a result I had a terrible back pain the next day because of the contortion and my dog now is a nervous dog towards big dogs!
  10. I have now reported the incident to Pauline Campbell from Southwark Council and the police, I'm waiting on the the police report and advice. I've been speaking to other dog owners who also have been attached by the same dog and they all say that the Irish lady says the same - it never happened before! I've told the police that the dog "Rosheen" is registered with The Neighbourhood Vet at 66 Lordship Ln, and I hope they will get in touch with this owner to make sure she keeps the dog on the lead or muzzle.
  11. I was walking my dog in Goose Green on Tuesday 2nd and we both were attached by an Irish Terrier owned by an Irish lady. I've now found out that 4 other people were attached by the same dog. One dog, a poodle, was attached twice and left with wholes the caller. All the people I know in Goose Green are very responsible with their dogs but this lady will not take notice or care about what anyone says so please be aware if you are walking a small dog or if see or have kids walking dogs, it will attach not only the dog but you as soon as you try to take it way. This has been reposted by email to the Council and I still waiting to heard from them.
