  1. Hi mums and dads, Nurturing mums and babies has been my passion since 1996 and for the past 27 years I have been working mainly in London but also worldwide, providing top quality newborn Maternity Care, postnatal and sleep support for mothers and their little ones. I’m a twin expert and can help put the babies on simultaneous feed and sleep patterns, this includes breastfed babies. As there is a lot of conflicting advice out there for new parents, I’m here to put your minds at ease by providing accurate and evidence based advice backed by science. My references speak for themselves and I’m happy to share them with you over WhatsApp. Whether you are only just expecting a new arrival, or already have you very own bundle of joy, and are struggling in some areas, I also offer “Postnatal Troubleshooting” with a special focus on baby’s environment, sleep, feeding and routine. These can either be arranged for home visits or telephone consultations to suit your individual needs. When you book my postnatal Maternity Nursing services, you will receive the following: -Daytime postnatal support right after birth for 5-6 weeks, allowing for a more speedy recovery (especially post C-section). -Umbilical cord care and cleaning. - Advice on lessening jaundice in your newborn. - Premature baby care. -Ensuring baby’s birth weight doesn’t drop below recommended safety levels. -Creating the perfect environment for baby’s sleep by recreating the 4th trimester. - Help with eliminating the “witching hour” - Night feedings, winding and settling. - Advice on proven-to-work best winding techniques. - Help with breastfeeding, i.e. making sure there is a good latch, positioning, engorgement issues, increasing milk production etc. - Advice on bottle/combination feeding. - Help to gently establish a routine and regular feed and sleep patterns. - Encouraging healthy sleep habits for your baby from day one. - Support and guidance with any issues that may arise. -Bathing your baby including grooming. -Baby massage and pressure points that help relieve wind. -Unlimited advice on anything baby and sleep related, including best baby products recommendations. - Sterilising and preparing bottles. - Taking care of all nursery duties. - Your very own “Lucia in your pocket” via WhatsApp, the only A-Z guide you would need for any questions that may arise along the way. I’m currently still available part time during the daytime and/or for 1-2 nights per week. Contact me on 07867332132 for more information and hourly rates. Best wishes, Lucia x

  5. Dear mums and dads, I?m looking for 4 volunteer clients who have babies between 3 and 6 months of age and who are interested in teaching their babies healthy sleep habits from a young age. I?m currently studying to become an international baby and child sleep consultant and all of my work is overseen by a very senior sleep coach mentor, so you will essenatilly be getting professional advice and guidance with 1 week support and all for free! Spaces get filled out very fast so don?t hesitate! Please only apply if you are experiencing some issues regarding your baby?s sleep. Many thanks and looking forward to working with you! Lucia
  6. Hi everyone, I?m currently training to become an international baby and sleep training consultant (after working with babies for the past 24 years as a newborn and infant nanny) and I need to find volunteer practice clients who have babies between 0-12 weeks old. You will have the opportunity to get professional advice from very senior sleep coaches, who oversea all my work and any advice I give will have to be first approved by my mentor. I?m looking for mums who can commit to working with me for 1 week in a form of follow up emails or phone calls about the baby?s progress based on the advice I?ve given. We will not be sleep training your baby, we will simply be implementing healthy sleep habits from the beginning, so that the baby becomes a good sleeper in the months and years to come. It?s important that only parents who are actually experiencing some issues with their baby (such as not settling after feeds or at night, not sleeping well at night or for naps, or who fall asleep being held or nursed and cry when put down in their crib, excessive crying etc etc) apply, as I can?t practice giving advice for a baby who is practically already a perfect sleeper :) Please contact me via email, briefly explaining the issues around your baby?s sleep, and then based on the information given, I will email you my phone number so we can set up a phone call for a more in depth chat, so I can take more notes, in order to write a sleep plan that is specifically tailored to yours and your baby?s needs. I?m very excited to start working with you and I?m sure you?ll enjoy the process as much as I will! Just don?t forget to apply ASAP since I only have 4 limited spaces and I?m sure they will go very quick!Thank you! Lucia

  8. I completely agree with the response above although 2 weeks each doesn?t equal 5.6 weeks. I guess if your nanny is allowed to choose 2 weeks paid holiday each year then you are still the one who is choosing 3.6 weeks on her behalf which is more than half. And if you as a family decide to take more than half of your agreed holiday allowance (more than 3.6 weeks p/a) then yes, the nanny should be paid as per usual since it?s your choice to go away and it?s not her fault that you are not around for her to work. It wouldn?t be fair on her otherwise. The only thing I would clarify with the nanny is that she can?t carry over her holiday entitlement to the next tax year and 1 month notice either side is usually standard unless otherwise specified in the contract or if there is an emergency. I don?t see that your nanny is trying to take advantage of the situation by waiting for you to book your holidays first as she might not be fussed about when she takes hers. Plus it?s her right to decide when and how she takes her 2 weeks, it could be a few days here or a week there or 2 weeks at a time as long as she gives you 1 month notice. If you feel you are paying out a lot more holidays than you should be perhaps the solution to this problem would be for you to wait until your nanny gives you a month notice for her holidays and then you can book yours at the same time to avoid having to pay her for extra time off. I think so far you have been a very fair employer which is how nannies expect and should be treated! Lots of families do things this way and they don?t mind doing so because they value their nanny and her commitment plus all the hard work she puts into your children but if you feel it?s not affordable for you anymore then try to schedule your holidays at the same time or go on holiday a bit less and stick with the 5.6 or so weeks. Good luck!
