  1. to clarify it's CASH ONLY at DKH right now & the ATM is out of order too. Went to Morrisons instead - no issues there.
  2. It all looked quite dramatic, rather worrying there wasn't more of a Police prescence with people wandering towards the scene. Bus drivers were not at all happy about having to reverse into side roads to go back up LL!
  3. hi bob, what's your issue & system type? I've been building & repairing desktops since the 386 days : )
  4. I'd also like to thank everyone who has posted about James Seth in this thread (and others). We had an issue with our RCD tripping in our consumer box (fuse box) which was knocking off the heating and everything else apart from the lighting. Despite being Christmas week, James came round the next day (had only contacted him yesterday evening) as soon as he was available. After talking through the issue, he went right to work with investigating all possible causes and managed to come up with a solution. I was floored by James' kindness and generosity and would 100% recommend him to anyone in need of electrical work, big or small. As mentioned previously, he can be contacted by phone/text/WhatsApp on 07816160353. Thank you James for all of your hard work and support!
  5. Ah, so not just us then! We didn't get a call, it happened again today just after 8AM, UK power networks said there was no faults reported at their end. The same thing happened last winter I think; am rather stressed about it : (
  6. Our power tripped three times today, very weird as no new appliances and nothing using more power than usual either. UK power networks said they were unaware of any issues. Was it just us?
  7. Arrested Development fan spotted on local forum.
  8. Hi we have a pack of tests with our address on the label, but not meant for us, if they're yours please PM me your door number, thanks & I hope you get well soon 😇
  9. Looked like a ladies LCD excercise watch - handed in to the driver it will be held in their garage for a while before going to tfl lost property
  10. Thanks for the heads up, I really hope they can stay in business.
  11. Any news regarding if they have managed to stay open? Love the staff there and they are an essential service in our community.
  12. I'd definitely be up for the photo walk part, not interested in hanging around afterwards though.
  13. I have been building & repairing PC's since the 386 days. If you are within easy reach of Goose Green pm me and we can work something out if you'd like.
  14. They are doing repairs in several roads adjacent to it so that's probably why. No advance warning on any of the signs though.
  15. My wife spoke to a member of EDMC a couple of days ago, turns out she was supposed to have been offered a jab some time ago along with me. Even though she asked a GP there last week about it, she was told that we weren't eligible yet and would be contacted "in due course". Got it done today at the Tessa Jowell Centre, the staff there were fantastic. So good I'm going to ask to be switched over to them as my GP had quite enough of the failed EDMC. So if you feel that you fit into one of the vulnerable groups / have a long term condition, DO contact your GP or their admin team and find out if you can get your vaccination booked. EDIT: They are currently offering the Pfizer and Oxford vaccines. Allow for an extra 15 minutes after the jab as they want to make sure you don't have any immediate reaction or side effects.
  16. If you are going to the Co-Op none of their tills are able to take card/device payments right now. Also NONE of the surrounding ATM's are in service. Beware also two of the staff are wearing their masks as chinwarmers and as usual are approaching people way to close. Have personally decided to permanently boycott the store because of the lack of respect towards their customers health and safety.
  17. You need to try Google Maps as they are speaking in "Roadman" :)
  18. Would be nice if this was streamed via Zoom or similar, would love to attend, but not when Covid 19 is spreading like mad.
  19. Thanks for the info, shopping there always makes me hungry!
  20. That sounds pretty decent! May I ask if they were serving food?
  21. I have had an apology by the user just now who has got everything working and is happy with the item. I understand that this is a difficult time for all of us right now and have accepted their apology. Just though it was worth bringing this up as I have had nothing but great experiences to date meeting many lovely people around ED I wouldn't have otherwise had the chance to.
  22. I had a user agree to buy a monitor from me - after seeing my advert which clearly stated what connectors it used and that there were some dead pixels. They private messaged me to arrange to buy the item - I then sent them a YouTube video which showed the steps and equipment needed to connect it to a modern laptop and I also sent them a photo of the screen in use taken they day before they were due to arrive with the location of the dead pixels clearly marked. The user arrived and I explained how to plug the cables in, and then tried to further explain regarding the need for extra hardware to connect to modern machines but was told that they knew all about that before I had chance to repeat the advice given by direct message. Despite agreeing to the price via direct message, the user then tried offering half the price, until I agreed to give him a discount as he had been at the door far too long, without a mask and I just wanted the sale over. He said that if it didn't work then he would be returning it. I stated clearly and firmly that I would not accept a return as I had just tested it, knew it to be working before that and that due to Covid 19 I do not accept any returns at all. As he stated that he didn't have change, and neither did I, he offered to pay the original amount, but I said that as we had agreed on a price, he could just drop the remaining amount through my letterbox the next day. This was not done and I then received a text saying that if he couldn't get it to work he would be returning it. I took the time to state that I had made it clear that I do not accept returns and that I had gone out of my way to explain the nature of the screen and the steps necessary to make it work on a modern laptop. A few hours later, I received a message stating that "If it doesn't work I will come and visit & smash it round your face". Naturally, I reported this to the Police right away. I wonder if anything can be done about such horrible experiences?
