Just got a mail from him, and yes, 2nm seperation that's if they are landing on parallel runways, like heathrow, but if the same runway it's 3nm. It's 500m Vertical in good weather, 1000 in not so good weather.

Will be funny flying on your hols one day with Nephew in charge of the flight....

They'd sell their mother for a commission so will no doubt "Humour" you. If it affects you then don't see why you should not ask. FWIW I shared a large house in Putn*y many years ago, and we had our beds shaken without fail about three times per week. You'd wake up, say "bugger off" and it stopped. Bit like having a pet, but without the need to look after it. Was never worried about it.

My wife's aunty is very suscepible to such activity, and one day, when some young lads had disappeared and were all over the news, she had an urge to walk with her husband to the pub one afternoon, something she never did. Sure enough she had a feeling that the boys were in the corner of a field. They called the police, they found the bodies, and she was chief murder suspect... Needless to say evidence didn't support this, and the newspapers reported "A man walking his dog" found the kids. Now, think about how many times you've read that, and it makes you wonder just how common this may be.

Ask them, they can only say no...or set up as a consultant to them. Anyone who can make money form estate agents deserves it ;-)

Has anyone heard the latest advert for the RAF on Virgin Radio. Starts of talking about an AWACS flying at a given height, then says this is kept there by the people on the ground. "The Technicians" (Then engine sound dies away) then other people get a mewntion and it creates the impression that it's the ground staff keeping it in the air. All well and good, then there is mention of protection from attack by enemy aicraft...then you hear a Stuka Siren building up, as if it's attacking it! Made I laugh!!! (For info on the Stuka, and a rousing Stuka marching song have a look at http://www.myunclewillies.com/about5.html2.html or this, for a true model...http://www.myunclewillies.com/about4.html1.html

I've dropped a message to my nephew. He's currently undergoing his commercial pilot training in Oxfordshire. Not sure of he's done the "How not to hit anyone else" part of the course yet though.

I'll be up for a kick-about. Nothng too serious though as one of those who loves to play but is absolutely cack at it..and no hard footballs, just those nice soft ones that go anywhere in a slight breeze....

  8. Quite Interesting, if you like that sort of thing...

Been in "Just having a look" but it's one of those places, like a builders yard, or an operating theatre, that unless you fully understand the language, and it's relavence to what's on display you are made to feel as welcome as a fart in a space suit...

Customer Service is not linked to the chain or the private restaurants, it should be seen as being something that delivered irrespective of the establishment. I have had excellent service in Licorish, and also the Harvester up the top of LL, likewise I have also had to go to the bar at both places to ask when my food is going to complain.

Sadly, we do have a habit of being "British" about making a scene when we're not happy with something. Making a scene is being a bit Am Dram about it, with wailing and gnashing of teeth. Never do that. Just state it quietly, and simply that you're not happy. Which you seemed to do. You're paying for a service, and that service should be delivered. Food is tricky though. If you don't like the taste fo something then it's not necessarily grounds for complaint. If however like Louise you get mucked about then you've every right to complain, and do so without being ashamed. Bob's VOTE WITH YOUR FEET comment is right. Never be afraid to walk out.

I was at Heathrow for the last concorde flights, and have a nice shot of three of them on the flight path for the final touch down. Must be about 2 miles apart, but obviously very hard to judge that sort f stuff in the air.

Sadly the hard drive the images are on went PHUT, so am deliberating spending ?????'s to get it recovered... :-(((((

Commercial GPS is not wholly accurate. I rode to Sevenoaks last week, and using my GPS system got home to discover I had tackled a 600m peak on the way!

Can i suggest you just get an OS map, and look at the contours...

  12. Last week I received a nice picture of my car parked in Camberwell Green, at 00:23, as I waited to collect my wife off a bus, rather than let her get a bus home from there herself.

Summons tells me I was parked on a Red Route. I e-mail my objections stating I was in a red route parking bay, and that there were plates saying the route operated between certain hours, and as it was half midnight, Unlikely that they were in operation.

Yesterday I got a letter back. Penalty cancelled "Due to lack of sufficien evidence" So, my question is this. IF there is now lack of sufficient evidence, wasn't that just a ticket issued in the hope I would just accept it?

Also, something people should remember is this. Issuing a ticket is a low cost affair. However, to then go through the process of looking into a ticket further, and dealing with a complaint costs the company money. So if there is the slightest doubt then there is a good chance they'll back down, as it's not worth persuing.

I worked for one of the utilities and if a person was in debt below a certain amount then it woudl be written off, as the cost of recovery was known. I woudl just like to add though. If you use something and don't pay for it, like leccie, or your phone, or gas then you're thieving scum. But this whole parking thing......some of it is just plain wrong. Last night, I saw a car getting a ticket outside Belaire House, at 10:45. Simply unbelievable!

A Friend has visited the GV15 flats, and they are looking at Circa ?260k for them. From what he said they are quite narrow, running the width of the building, so you can choose to look at the bookies, or go trainspotting, as your desires take you.

Taking Amelie's point. I bought my flat in 1993 (In Wimbledon) for ?37k (Sorry!) and last valuation made me laugh "You'll never get someone to pay that will you?" I asked. "Many times over" came the reply. But as mentioned. If you look at it in the harsh light of day, ignoring the marketing bo**ocks, then all the prices are stupidly inflated.

I use to walk past that every morning on my way to Peckan Pie rail station. One morning I walked past, and suddenly noticed, while in the middle of it that the pub had changed colour, and that there was a MK1 Escort and Vauxhall Viva parked in the road. Felt like I had walked through a time portal. All the trucks etc were parked up the side of the Peckam Exp. so wasn't obvious I was on a film set.
