  1. Try childspace in Tulse Hill, very small groups, lovely and caring parent run nursery. www.childspace.org/
  2. I think I wouldn't do it. I love Thailand, been there myself, backpacking, travelling around ... but that was all pre-children. With a toddler it would require too much thinking for me, like: what can he eat, how is the sun, markets, streetfood and all the stuff I like, he wouldn't enjoy. We went in early spring (though years ago) but I found the sun pretty intense. I got a terrible sunburn in the shade, so with a young child, I would'nt know how to protect him. It's a long howl to get there, not the cheapest trip. If we spend so much money we would love to do all the things we really enjoy and not compromising too much because of the little one. But that's only the way I think and plan, Thailand is still a great destination. Though we took our toddler on the trip through the Rocky Mountains in an RV, not sure how many people would do advise that ;-)) enjoy
  3. The transfer to secondary school is about coming soon. My child is lacking self confidence, has problems making friends and worries about the commute to school. Are there any courses/workshops we could sign up for to help with that? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hi, I havent been, but friends of mine have. For the same reasons they went to belgium and had a really good time. They recommended it highly. Enjoy
  5. Hi, Last summer we tried the cycle route 12, from tonbridge to penshurst. Our youngest was 5. Got there by train, was a great day trip for the family! Enjoy

  7. Hi, due to weather we went to the northern Alps (Austria) last summer. As I wanted an "active summer trip" the south (Italy) is too warm for me. We stayed near Salzburg, had sun, mountains, activities without end, I can really recommend it. But on the other hand, I do love the south, Bolzano (hm, food, wine!) beautiful Dolomites, clear lakes for swimming. Go for a local B&B or family farm and you will have a lovely time! enjoy
  8. Maybe the edf is not the right place for your market research. Try areas like south kensington and the like. I don't think the idea is bad and l think there are people out there who might use a high-end service like this. But then it would need to be high-end not home made. Best of luck.
  9. Hi everyone, Dowa anyone know if they have a playzone Like Gambados? If yes is it big enough to entertain 2 six years old boys?? Thanx
  10. Thanks again for all the helpful comments! We will take it step by step, doing my research now. Has anyone one for sale? Enjoy xx
  11. Thanx for this Pickle. Plenty of information here! I will have a look at the shops, gather some more information and will make my decision then. It is a lovely instrument and she's been asking for years... Thanks again enjoy
  12. Hi everyone, I am not sure where to start looking, so l try it here. My daughter (10) would love to play a flute. Is this very difficult? She plays the recorder and the violin. Where to buy a beginners flute and how much could that be. Any idea about the prices for lessons and could you recommend a teacher? Anything else l should consider? Thanks enjoy
  13. Hi, we have been to both places. Switzerland is beautiful, my sister lives near Bern, really stunning scenery. And stunning prices. It really is expensive. Last summer we went to Austria with our children (5+9). It's beautiful (but not as stunning as Switzerland), very good value for money and there was sooo much to do. We stayed near Salzburg, bought a Salzburg Card (60? pp) and with that we had free access to some attractions like the castle and cable car in Salzburg City, Wild Animal Park, some cable cars in the mountains, swimming pools, boats on the lakes ... the list is endless. You can do beautiful walks, we went to the highest hanging bridge in europe, the world's biggest ice cave, stayed in a lovely small hotel (half board), went hiking and stayed in the mountains over night, went to the local lido... ah, it brings back lovely holiday moments. Plenty to do in Austria - without breaking the bank. Oh and the food is good too.
  14. ok, can't help with personal experience but I've read about this one: TVT, Tension-free Vaginal Tape
  15. Hi, I can highly recommend Dulwich Orthodontic Centre (West Dulwich, near the Tesco Express) Dr. Heike Bornert has been very good with my daughter. Give it a go. enjoy
  16. http://www.dianahotel.co.uk/ I don't know anything about it, I only pass it on school runs, but maybe worth trying.

  18. Hi, I do believe in Cranial osteopathy. When my son was little l took him the osteopathy centre for children(occ). It did wonders to him. Fees were donation based, you could pay what you could afford. If it works, great. If not, you havent done him any harm. I would call them and ask if they can help!! Good luck.
  19. welcome! You'll find the germans here: www.germankindergarten.co.uk (really, really good, but waiting list) http://www.hanselandgretel.org.uk Another recommendation for an excellent nursery: www.childspace.org especially to bond with other families and great for young children, because there are only 7 kids per session Have a look. enjoy

  23. My son has started school in September at the age of 5. He hasn't been taught before, nor has he shown any interest in letters at all. Now he enjoys reading and writing the letters he has learned so far. He can read and write words with the familiar letters. The most amazing thing about it is - how much he enjoys it, how much he loves his newly gained skills, he is really keen on working on it. My boy loves it!!!
  24. Hi, Forget about after school clubs. There are hardly any available. It seems like a lot, but they are age restricted, so only A very few to choose from. Go on their website and do Some research. The facilities are rubbish (sorry, but true) but to be honest, both my kids (and me too now) are very happy there. Great teacher, all down to earth, good atmosphere ... All very good. And l like the new head, made a great Impression.
  25. It's "Paracetamol-Day" at my house. We were discussing it quite a bit, so I can feed you with another article (I know the Daily Mail is not best source for medical research) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1388498/Painkiller-overdose-fear-1-4-babies-given-paracetamol-GPs-parents.html
