  4. Cats respond most readily to names that end in an "ee" sound. So if the cat is called Geraldine it will not listen to you when you try get it through the cat flap. Try changing her name to elsie
  5. I've never been to the FHT but I think you have just sold it to Mr Wilson. Hope to see you tonight (if I get a pass out!!)
  6. Head held down in shame. I will disappear until this time next year!
  7. .....and Yorkshire Day is currently trending 2nd on Twitter in the UK today
  8. Turns out it's not even sither!! DADS REPLY: Ey up You should indeed be ashamed of yourself, you'll be asking who the Terriers are next. Its sithee i.e see thee or look here you. Dad
  9. Your explanation sounds reasonable but my Dad uses it in a different context. I will come out to my Dad and admit I do not know what it means - oh the shame!!
  10. Spice was a term we used all the time - I'd forgotten that! The Indian Restaurant story rings a bell - they ignored the planning permission they applied for and ended up having to demolish the whole thing......at least the 'castle' is still standing. I'm a Huddersfield Town Fan without really knowing that much about Huddersfield! Although I used to play golf at Bradley Golf Course every week in my early-twenties. My parents/grandparents are all from Heckmondwike and I worked there briefly as a 15 year old. One thing I have never worked out is what 'sither' means - does this make me less of a Yorkshire Man?
  11. Standedge - I went on at least two Geography field trips there Lions Sport Mixture - Factory was about half a mile from my house - there was sometimes a gorgeous smell in the air on the walk to school!! Castle Hill - is on 4 of my favourite T-Shirts!! Kaylai and liquorice is just wrong although mum would argue that I am completely wrong! I love the Dales - in particular Malham Cove / Gordale Scar and the 3 peaks area. I also have a particular affection for Haworth Moor as it was where Mrs LYM and myself had our first date. My Dad's Yorkshire puddings - if he agrees i would love to invite you all round to taste them. Queueing at bus stops eeee - thes no place like 'ome
  12. I find myself once a year on this special day. It's kind of like Brigadoon!!
  13. Let's celebrate all things Yorkshire
  14. If she went anywhere near our cats they would scratch her arms to shreds.
  15. I accidentally took tipex instead of V*agra last night. I woke up with my massive correction. Edited to say Vi*gra is not allowed on the forum!!
  16. My lovely wife asked a detective on the end of the road what had happened. I can now reveal that 'there's been an incident Madam'. So that's cleared that up
  17. I used to commute from Leeds to Kings Cross and got the 6:40 on a Monday morning. Every week the same guy got on at Doncaster, sat next to me, put his suit jacket over himself (blanket style) and went to sleep. We never said a peep to each other for over a year!
  18. The diversion that avoids Rye Lane makes it a lot quicker but the diversion that bypasses Peckham Library adds a bit of time because of the traffic lights. With many stops been closed at the moment it leads me to think that we don't need all the bus stops anyway. For instance - there is a bus stop at the end of Barry Barry Road. Then another at the Gardens. Then another at Crystal Palace Road. Why not get rid of the Gardens stop and keep the traffic flowing. Same goes for a couple that run down the road from Peckham Library (can't remember the name!)
  19. The time will come down after the roadworks have finished. The strange loop around Peckham Bus station adds a fair few minutes
  20. I agree with Cheryla The 63 is a great bus to get to that part of town. I get it from Peckham Rye Common to Waterloo (including a short walk) and I am door to door in 40mins (30mins on the bus). I often get it to KX as well - that takes about 45mins door to door. Do it - you will always get a nice seat
  21. Thoroughly disappointed with the couple of restaurants we went to. I can't remember there names so no help there. However, there were some dirty fish restaurants in the middle of the Djemaa el Fna (forgive the spelling)that are nice and allow you to soak in the atmosphere of the square. Don't be scared by all the hassle you will get. Ignore them or if they have been part-way helpful give them a small coin.
  22. I took the wife for a nice Valentines meal on moon. The food was great but there wasn't much of an atmosphere.
