  1. Hi Rose, I'm not sure that's fair. She was not the object of the photo, just someone who got in the way of a photo my partner was taking of the assailant. We have edited and cropped the photo so she is now the foreground. There's no suggestion she has done anything wrong, but my partner believes this person is 'superbly' well placed to provide a witness statement and simply must have seen what happened that day.
  2. Hi Rosetta, There was, but that was earlier and my partner didn't believe there was any witnesses to that - it was near the skate park/outside gym area of the park. The police were called because he was attacked by a man (who was partner to the dog owner) a few minutes later in the open park, by rugby fields.
  3. Hi all, My partner was attacked by a man in Peckham Rye park in October last year. It was very disturbing for him and he hasn't felt the same since, experiencing high anxiety and very concerned about walking around the park by himself (which was a daily activity for him). He (and I) are determined to make sure the perpetrator pays for this. My partner called the Police on his attacker (who had escaped), but the police failed to conduct interviews around the caf?/play area where lots of people would have seen the incident. My partner had to track down witnesses himself (going to the caf? the next day to get phone numbers etc), only for the police to then not to follow up on calling witnesses he himself brought forward. This eventually led to my partner contacting the independent office for police conduct, with full details of what had happened. They have now closed their investigation, but no charges have been brought against the aggressor due to a lack of witnesses. So with my encouragement, he's created a website which is linked below. We are hoping the good people of EDF will take a look and even share the website - there is a picture of a lady who is a potential witness to the crime. https://www.peckhamryeattackwitnessappeal.com/ Thanks for reading, CE
  4. I'd agree with Jules-and-Boo for taking pictures and putting it on sites. Just to warn you to take some protections whilst you do this. My partner suffered a dog attack in Peckham rye park last October, and took a video of the dog owner. He was later attacked by the owner's partner (and took a picture of him). He put the picture online (not the video which was shown to the police). Unsurprisingly, he was dealing with some particular unscrupulous individuals and by using his own name on FB etc, he initiated some quite intensive personal abuse against him (including on EDF incidentally). I'd strongly recommend setting up anonymous profiles and posting such pictures etc that way.
  5. Sorry about what happened to you. Just to warn you, my other half was attacked in Peckham rye park last year and put out a picture he took (on his mobile) on various local facebook groups. He was threatened quite a bit for doing so, including on this forum (by some friends of the perpetrator) you may not be using your real name on here, but the perpetrator would obviously remember where you live. So you may want to be careful. The Police were completely useless in this case too (my partner and I even lodged an official complaint) CE
  6. I think this is a great idea. Funnily enough, my partner was thinking of setting up a crazy/mini golf course in the area - he was thinking of the location of the old lido, but he's now thinking of the bowling green space (nothing has been done about it - it's just blue sky thinking from his perspective). It would be ideal for families, and could bring a lot of business to the area. As said above, there would be ways of getting local community involved i.e. kids designing parts of it. CE
  7. Hi Jules-and-Boo, Interestingly, my partner did this - he even got a video of the dog owner to take to the police. Since the video only showed the woman walking with her dog (and not the attack itself), the police wouldn't do anything. first mate - we found it difficult to get police action, since Police viewed the dog as not a 'dangerous dog'. From my second-hand understanding (via my stressed partner), it seemed the police seemed far more interested in what breed/type of dog it was rather than it's behaviour, which just seemed weird to me. CE
  8. I agree with rahrahrah, there seems to be an out of control dog pretty much every week, if not more often. My live-in boyfriend was attacked by a small black dog just over six months ago now (on Peckham Rye park) and he's still feeling the effects (i.e. very reluctant to go within a 30-40 metre radius of any dog, which makes taking joint walks together very difficult indeed!) In my view, the park should not allow dog owners to have dogs off their leads, except in some very tightly defined areas. Perhaps rather like the picnic area in the park specifically prohibits dogs, there could be a similar sized area where dog owners can keep take their dogs.
  9. Hello all, Last year, I was in contact with another EDF user, wcpostins. It was about a very important issue, and I really need to re-initiate contact with him. His account on here appears to have been deleted, but I was wondering if maybe there were other EDF users who knew him and would be kind enough to put us in contact? Obviously, please don't publish private contact details on here. If you know him, I'm happy to PM or email and for you to pass on a message to him directly or exchange contact details if you were happy to do so. Thanks for reading, CE
