I don't know if anyone has seen that Piaf has finally closed for business. Hooray! I am amazed it has limped on for this long given it can't have been covering its costs for many years. Does any one know what is going to take its place?

You may want to avoid this area this afternoon as there are lots of police cars and ambulances near the station.

The East Dulwich Hunt..... (foxes)

A friend of mine who lives in Wandsworth got a person he read about in the evening standard to stake them out and shoot 4 of them. -
Just being nosey but can anyone tell me which film they are filming in Dulwich ( a few houses down from the Village and East Dulwich Grove crossroads. Apparently there are very well known actors in it?

I drove past the wine bar (Springers) on East Dulwich Grove and there was a sign saying that William Rose was moving in! Does anyone know whether this will be another shop or running their wholesale business from here? Thanks

Personally I think Dulwich is still short of good restaurants. Personally I do not mind paying for good food. So oftne people believe that good quality and cheap come hand in hand but more often than not this is very difficult. Locale I believe is by the less well known partner of Locanda Locatelli. He has or had a restaurant in Blackheath.

We are often overcharged. Why is it just as you like something they withdraw the item!

While I know you are asking about East Dulwich FYI there is Olley's in Herne Hill which I thought the food was excellent. http://www.olleys.info/ Less trendy than the Sea Cow but deleivers on the food.

Thanks for the views on Piaf. Didn't know it was another chain (albeit small)! I tend to agree with the MI6 idea. I think that if Lordship Lane can deliver decent restaurants there is no reason why Dulwich Estate who like the power kick can't think more carefully about which restaurants entering the village. I have to admit my favourite restaurant in the area is Joanna's up in Crystal Palace.

Firezza is the best pizza I have had around this area. Having said this their pizza's are not cheap http://www.firezza.com/

Does anyone know how Piaf restaurant in the village remains solvent given there is never anyone in their? While the Dulwich estate are very tight on some things having failed the community and let two chains (Pizza Express & Cafe Rouge)in to the village there is a space for a good idependant. Unfortunately Piaf does not provide good food! It is a shame but until Piaf goes under we are being deprived of a good restaurant in the village. Any thoughts?
