So you're allowed to call this new sweet shop a "hideous eyesore" but I'm not allowed to share my opinion on M&S' hideously inedible spray-painted chocolate? Lol... Okay. I don't know why you're so incapable of putting two & two together & realising I was making a personal preference as to where I'd want to go for an "overpriced" edible gift. Don't worry, M&S isn't going out of business. They recieve my custom every day & despite my oh so terrible opinion on their chocolate gifts, they do have nice cheap chocolates in there too. Phew! At least someone here has some common sense... Thank you, Maybaby. Apparently enthusiasm is a crime these days.
  2. D'awwwwww... the face on him! Reminds me of one of my cats, but he's clingy & rarely leaves the house (currently snuggled up in bed). I do hope this little fella's okay!
  3. Are the prices really any different to that of the Hope & Greenwood we had on NCR? I spend most of my time around Regent St & Covent Garden partly for the enjoyment of shops like this - like Passiflora said, you're paying a little extra for the experience. We don't have any other victorian style candy shops within close proximity. Some may not wish to spend the extra money for that experience however it is a very convenient place to pick up edible gifts for a special occasion... unless of course you want to hop next door into M&S & pick up those hideously inedible looking things they call "chocolate" in a gift box. There is a lot of overpriced tat on LL but for me... Mr Simms isn't one of them.
  4. I can highly recommend Pb (https://www.proboards.com/) from my personal experience. I have to agree with Mark (& apologies) but this forums format is a little lacking.
  5. The Neighbourhood Vet on LL between Barclay's ATM & Co-Op. I took an injured bird & it was able to make a swift recovery. They treated the little thing fast & updated me with the good news within an hour. The bird was then sent to a Wildlife Rescue organization.
  6. Could one of these things be what I witnessed the other night? It flew silent & remained static in the sky for a good 2 minutes before taking off. I would have dismissed it as a helicopter had it been making a buzzing sound, but it wasn't.

No, you certainly were not. You & your like destroyed a perfectly fine thread promoting a perfectly legit business, attacking a positive review & falsly accusing me of being the owner - all because of an enthusiastic comment on the opening? Ha! There's something severely wrong with you.

Yes, being a 5ft2, 92lb female. I can really see that happening. But having taken pictures of the incident as opposed to the standing gormlessly by like the "men" in there were, as these boys (yes, I will stand by my statement) attempted to get aggressive with the security guard; The only people who attempted to do anything about it (other than the security guard) were the 2 young females (myself, the blonde who recorded the entire incident) & the female cashier - hilarious since the guy who stood by was over 6ft tall in workout clothes, but didn't bother to put his physique to any use whatsoever. - As a side note, it's typical behaviour of the men in this area. Jogging around & staring gormlessly as drama kicks off is clearly the new East Dulwich look.
  9. I understand that cannabis is (currently) illegal, but I don't think you need to state that it's cannabis to make your point. I too hate having my doors/windows open when my neighbours are smoking, regardless of what it is, I just hate breathing in second hand smoke in my own house. Furthermore, it's followed by the constant sound of coughing (like ...?!)
  10. It's officially open now. Very impressive assortment of confectionery.
  11. To the 10-15 boys who were just caught stealing bottles from Tesco's Local; white, dressed in football attire, whiny cockney accent, aged around 16-21... you may have legged it (to the bus stop on the LL side of East Dulwich Rd, but you were recorded in full (thanks to the other blonde girl) & multiple pictures were taken ("smile for the camera, b***s!"). If this sounds like your offspring, you may wish to polish up on your parenting skills.
  12. Oh, rest assure I contacted Mark long before your ridiculous comments (thanks to a member who gave me a heads up that someone was accusing me of being Mr Simms, lol) You can expect this whole section to be wiped once he's back. As for you, I'm officially bored. You can't seem to justify your behaviour (on this thrread or any other thread you appear to have targetted) you really are as one person put it "a wind-up merchant". You're also a catfish who hides behind a keyboard. The offer is still on the table, you are welcome to put your insercurities at rest at any time but I doubt you will because again... you're a coward. Have a good night :D
  13. It looks like dustbins have replaced suitcases & are becoming the latest trend; I can't tell you how many people I saw dragging them down the street today.
  14. cella Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Truly ludicrous, OTT individual. Stop pming me as > instructed. Nobody has PM'd you since, you batty old woman. My "calm down" response was never intended to be a private quote in the first place. OTT is you jumping to the conclusion that I've FORCED people to visit & my overly enthusiastic post means I MUST be the owner under a 2nd account (edit: which you have YET to provide any evidence to!) You're older than me, act like it, get over yourself & seek help... PLEASE.
  15. cella Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Interesting reaction. Well there you go. Who's the coward now? Mr Simms business appears to be booming & customers growing by the day, so regardless of the nasty comments made in this section or my overly enthusiastic response to the opening, it's not going to take away from his success. Toodles!
  16. cella Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Complete nonsense. And your justification for the > offensive pm is? You just need to reveal your > identity. My justification for asking you to calm down, you miserable old bat? Was in response to your distastful comment towards a genuinely kind review. See for yourself! If you're looking to start an argument, you wont get it from me. You can however find me in person as I live locally & will be more than happy to show you who I really am. If you do happen to be the miserable old bat you're making yourself out to be on the forums then shame on you. As for "complete nonesense" that is not a response let alone a justification for your attack on a positive review. Feel free to reveal who you really are.

Stick to commenting in > public though or are you prepared to reveal who > you really are? READ ABOVE I am waiting for you to correct your accusation. The problem with presumptuous people (like yourself) is that it makes you look like an idiot. What are you SO offended by exactly? My enthusiasm? Or are you just so politically correct you can't handle social interraction? Feel free to meet me AND "Dara" so you can put your insercurities at rest. Until then, stop HIDING BEHIND YOUR PC & MAKING IRRATIONAL COMMENTS. - as a side note, you are (not sure if intentionally) trying to sabotage somebody's business, but imagine if that was your own & the one nice comment you got on your business recieved backlash because there's too many grumpy people like yourself with way too much time on their hands.

So, great if it's a popular and useful > addition to LL but think people will decide for > themselves. Feel free to direct me to the part of my post where I forced everyone to visit. It's a review, it doesn't matter how enthusiastic it is - do not be so quick to jump to such conclusions - it is just an honest review. Lighten up. I took the time to post my personal pictures & share them with those who may not have had the chance to visit & would like a glimpse at what they are stocking. As mentioned, the pictures are poor so it doesn't make for a snapshot menu, people will have to visit for themselves if they want to know exactly what is being stocked.
  19. I think we need Lord Varys in these troubling times. I wonder what he'd say about all of this...
  20. Maybe they should improve their self scan stations before trying to force them onto customers; they can be a real pain at times & then I feel like I'm troubling the assistant (even though that's their job).
  21. I've been suffering with an eating disorder & severe panic attacks, bouncing from place to place for the past 4 years. I wish I could find the quality of service I only ever get from Guy's A&E. I can't tell you how many times I've been misdiagnosed at Nunhead, which have plenty of doctors, but have left me with no choice but to do my own research online. Unfortunately I can't go to The Gardens surgery as it was previously owned by a close relative & have another close relative working there still (hence why I was kicked off the list). Many of the good doctors I used to see at The Gardens have left but I believe there are still a couple of good ones (which is more than I can say for Nunhead). - I know this sounds a little off topic in regards to your initial post but my point is that even the surgeries with plenty of doctors seem pretty unqualified to be working in this field & makes me wish I followed my relatives footsteps in becoming a doctor myself.
