loft conversion experiences and recommendations
archic replied to tstoilov's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Unfortunately, valley roofs cannot be converted into loft rooms since there is not enough space to stand up (usually). I have done sleeping platforms for kids and attics though. David Hingamp - Ar'Chic -
I have just acquired an old 1970's Etype and it's a real project (mechanically). I have worked on a Jag before but with the help of a mechanic who knew a few things about these engines. If someone would be interested to help (paid services)or knows someone who has this as a passion, I would like to hear. Thanks, David.

Recommendations for architect/designer for side return
archic replied to Tworler's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Hi Emma, An architect will have a personal relationship as long as he hasn't got too many on the go. If you are interested in making something a little more interesting than a builder would offer then contact us at www.archic.co.uk David - 0771 753 8424 -
We use Velfac windows and doors quite often in our projects. Good clean designs they are ! David. www.archic.co.uk

Can anyone recommend a builder for extension?
archic replied to katy1985's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Don't you want to go for an architect first if you are looking for something a little more interesting than your standard "builder's" solution? -

the only decent wine I have found in the area is at Green and Blue. At least there you know the wine actually comes from grapes and not a chemist lab. David.

I am so for street demos and other forms of public protests. But do they work in the UK? 1million people against the war had no influence on the governement. Look at France, people go on strike and protest massively: result is that the government listens and find compromises. 4000 bikers went to demonstrate at Westminster Council against the bike parking charge: result: f... all. I think Uk needs a "revolution Francaise" to chop a few heads off and start from fresh: FSA for example or naybe even the queen ??? :)

Having weapons to defend ourselves is surely not the right way forward. Look at the U.S mess... Let's tackle the problem at the root rather than trying to patch things up: Where are the parents, what the f.. are they doing with their kids? Should we fine the parents to make them more responsible?

Bellenden Road - just picking up or closing down?
archic replied to northlondoner's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I just think the building is just a horrible thing to build at the beginning of such a lovely road. -
Dulwich Doll has been banned from East Dulwich Forums: Lucky for all of us actually. She (or he apparently as I have picked up) has not been able to formulate any constructive comments here and has been seriously disturbing other East Dulwich threads. I suspect her childish attitude will make her come back under a different name, but will probably get banned again for it!! And sorry Louisa that you find my idea of a cool jazz bar offensive. Again, we have different views. So what? Let it be!
-
Dulwich Doll was a real nuisance on other threads. She just couldn't accept that someone had different ideas to her. In the end she insulted me and said I was a nazi... Justice has been done and good job she (or he???) is not around anymore. We can now have civilised conversation again. and Long life to DEMOCRACY !
-
A forum is for people to express their views and ideas. I'm sorry if you don't agree to mine. Other people do. Your nazi comments are becoming offensiv so It would be good if you could stop disturbing the thread and make sensible posts.
