  1. I never said it was an "african street" Dullwich Doll did, I said it had an african resonance to it. But Apparently I'm totally wrong and ignorant so let's stop the insults please...
  2. Well Yes, Peckham is well known for its afro caribean great variety of shops and cafes. I am sure you were aware of this particular side of Peckham. I don't know what Bellenden would be called But I still hope for my cool bar :) Anyway, we don't agree. Nevermind. Long life to Jazz!
  3. Here we go again what? my office is basically going to be one my bedrooms converted into an office, and that;s hardly going to impact on the street is it??? I'm all for cultural diversity and If I wasn't I wouldn't come to Peckham. If it was my business, I would have had a chosen a different spot and rather go where it's best. And as I said earlier, what Bellenden Road lacks in is a sort of a moody Lounge bar, where you could comfortably stop in for a read, get a delicious capuccino or glass of natural wine, a summer salad at lunchtime, a jazz note etc... You have your views, I have mine.
  4. Because simply that's how Peckham High Street gets its clear african resonance to it. I like African food and I like knowing that I will get the best african food in an african street. Brick Lane is a good example of it, or Soho in central London.
  5. My point is that if you are looking for African food,Peckham High Street would be a much better setting for it.
  6. The bollards look fab! I like unique pieces like that. Bellenden Village will remain unique with its ups and downs! David.
  7. Why French? Because you love us, not hate us!!!! Dummy! David.
  8. I hope Uk and little community villages like ED or Bellenden Village will be strong enough to refuse MACshit processed "food" and Starbucks's disgraceful coffee. Go to France or Italy and then come back to join me smash their windows up! Who needs sad american chain food in uk ???
  9. it's an frican restaurant, but frankly it's not really what Bellenden village requires. What we actually need is a swanky moody cafe, not too busy, excellent natural food, natural wines and a bit of jazz... David.
  10. Hi, Being a local architect now I have to answer phone calls and emails as late as 10pm in evenings sometimes! David.
  11. Hi, Well, I feel brave enough as a young and passionate architect to set up my practice Archic at 98,Bellenden Road. The house is under refurbishment right now and you will be able to view it inside for an open day in mid-June. I lived on Queen's Road side of Peckham but just fell in love with the Bellenden Road. Whatever it is now, or will be in the future, here reside real people, cute independant shops, nice and friendly people within a classic charming streetscape that used to be a quality georgian suburbia. But everyone forgets to talk about the parks that are all over the place! I'm going to love it (yes, I might get a dog!) David.
