  1. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Three-Shoes-One-Sock-Hairbrush/dp/0304354295 Came recommended from a few friends. Worth a look. Good luck with it all.
  2. Ah thank you Bell Jo - will check it out.
  3. ... need a bit of help with this... my son is 5 next birthday and all he really wants for a party is a hall to run around in and a bouncy castle. Any suggestions for halls/venues. The less fancy the better! Thank you kind forumers!
  4. Thank you!!!!!!!!!
  5. I can only echo what a lot of what has been posted. I had my son at 37, 2 months before my 38th birthday, a miscarriage at 40 and this year had my daughter a month before my 42nd birthday. I had tried for about 7 or 8 months the last two times, and when I decided not to actively "try", she was conceived. My midwife said something about fertility going up in your early forties (hence lots of women back in the day being 'caught' when they thought they were having the menopause.) Good luck with what ever you decide. x
  6. Hey - I was in your shoes a year ago. I can only echo the great advice you have been given. I would add that getting an appointment with the wonderful Teresa Arias, consultant midwife, Kings, was a godsend. I also had a great chat with the NCT refresher course teacher as well. In the end circumstances meant that I had an elective, but lots of women have a great VBAC experience. It really comes down to what is best for you, your family and baby! Good luck - let us know when baby arrives! xxx
  7. Ahhhh - I've never met you but followed a lot of your threads. Delighted to hear your great news. Enjoy your beautiful new baby! x x
  8. Just come back from 2 for price of 1 ticket, with a hotel visit. Pleasantly surprised. There is a lot for them to do, from 3 to 7 year olds. The younger rides are not that busy and my 4 and half year old was happy to queue for the bigger rides. The staff were great and really made the day more plesant. I, despite my initial reservations, am now a fan. Lovely grounds and very small child friendly. (Quick tip when driving there - take the alternative route to legoland when you hit Windsor - really pretty and saves you sitting in traffic!) Enjoy!
  9. Yip, my (4 year old) son has tried to breastfeed dolls and various teddies since his sister was born five months ago. He even tried to help me pump some milk.....
  10. Tesco. Also companies like Snapfish and Photobox do special offers.
  11. http://www.kstherapy.co.uk/ Katie Sedgewick - very good - lots of recommendations from friends and used her when I had first baby. She operated from her home in East Dulwich and the health centre.
  12. http://www.westmorland.com/about-us ... not quite a long stopover, but I drive up to Scotland fairly regularly and this is by far the best service station, especially the southbound side. Lots of families stop there and there is a hotel - seeing the message above reminded me as it too is in Tebay....
  13. .. seems a strange place to start a thread, but since I had my second baby in February I have been thinking I should really make a will. In the past I have had some invaluable advice from the EDF, so if anyone has any experience or thoughts on the subject, I would really appreciate it. Can anyone recommend somewhere to go to draw up the will? Cheers!
  14. My husband said there was also a funeral scene beng filmed in Nunhead Cem (naturally..)
  15. Angelo at the Vale is excellent and he is an expert in pregnancy/fertility etc. Highly recommend.
  16. Had daughter's done on the Friday and the 4 month one on the Tuesday. Health visitor said it was ok!
  17. I heard that The Victoria Inn, Bellenden, has a baby/toddler play room, but haven't been there myself.... Jame Circus in Brockley is good, lots of space, good food....
  18. I've got 2 unopend packs of Tesco ones - small size. Any good?
  19. Ah yes - the boiling temps of the ward! Both in 2007 and in Feb this year I encountered this! Lovely and clean though. Great staff. My only gripe was the over crowding of some of the visitors (in 2007 there were so many people in the bed next to me that the curtain was practically on top of me. They brought in massive pots of food and the kids were running in and out of the curtain. The receptionist came down and asked most to leave!) I have a lot of time for the staff at Kings - in my opinion some of the most professional people I have ever met.
  20. Also - check the catchment area - living in Nunhead does not necessarily mean you get a place at Ivydale... there is, as I understand it, a large waiting list for both nursery and reception. The choice may still not be yours....
  21. I've already posted this, but if you have UPVC doors, make sure you double lock them. Police said they are targetted. We too were robbed around 4am - same stuff nicked and they had a vehicle - they nicked our car. I was 2 weeks away from giving birth and we were all asleep upstairs. Only just sorted out insurance now - it happened on 8 Feb. Tell you what though - it wasn't so much the stuff - it was my precious 2 weeks of maternity leave and sleep that they robbed.
