  1. I had one at 3am in Nunhead - my alarm beeps when it is resets so luckily I woke up then....
  2. The swimming lessons don't start back until 7th Jan if that's any help.
  3. .. I thought it was just me... *wipes eyes*
  4. ... just heard it is opening at 11 today....
  5. ...thanks for that info. Bit of a pain cos I have just sent family down there.... Hope Beckenham works out ok! x
  6. Just to reiterate what GinaBean said in the post above. I think I've posted this before, but we were burgled in Feb, two weeks before I was due to give birth. Similiar to GinaBean - asleep, tv, wii, cameras (bought to take pics of baby), memory cards, money, children's bank, car, - hubby had a job interview that day and his bag with stuff for the interview, passport etc taken. I felt sick when I saw the door open, the house felt different to me. Neighbour heard gate go at 4.30 am but thought I was off to hospital to have baby. The reprocusions lasted months, and when the police found our car 6 months later I wept - they had been driving around with my son's car seat and his stuff in the back. I am still dealing with insurance stuff and the DVLA who still think we have the car. It wasn't the missing stuff that upset me - it was my much needed maternity leave before having my baby. I have four files of paperwork connected to it all. My son who was four at the time had nightmares and I dreamt about people crawling in the window. I too do things differently - double lock, take bags and keys upstairs - in fact I am a bit paranoid about locking up and check, check and recheck. The crime victim group was still running then and came and gave me some good tips too. As the CID lady said, as least we didn't see them..... All the best.
  7. This was recommended to me http://www.amazon.co.uk/Three-Shoes-One-Sock-Hairbrush/dp/0304354295
  8. I have always found the staff at Si Manga (also at end of your road) to be great with the kids, and in the past the restaurant has been child friendly. Enjoy your day! (See you Thursday)
  9. http://www.skandium.com/republic-of-fritz-hansen.asp Hi Peebles - try this link - there is a phone number and an email address if you want to contact them - I couldn't see the lego on the site, but I know they had a huge display of it the other week! x
  10. I second that! And I have a great breastfeeding dress from them. Fab.
  11. http://www.fritzhansen.com/en/fritz-hansen.aspx Don't know if this is relevant anymore, but on a rare outing to the west end, I saw a lego storage box/centre/package in the window of Fritz Hansen on Margaret Street (just off Oxford Circus) - the lady said they were one of the few to stock them. Hope its helpful! x
  12. You don't even have to leave Startford Tube Station. When you leave the jubilee line train you follow the signs straight ahead and go along a covered walkway which takes you in the bowels of the Westfield beast. Enjoy!
  13. Top of Peckham Rye (can't remember name, but its next to the new Asda that replaced Netto, end nearest the park). I popped in there and had a try when I was looking. Also big Mothercare on Old Kent Road was good - nice staff. Hope this helps.
  14. Yeah to J B shoes too! Great help all round and the staff are fantastic with children, which is a real skill when you are measuring/conjoling/selling to what is, let's face it, a tough crowd (children I mean!) Taking a polaroid of baby's first shoes is a nice touch. Also thumbs up to Fenton Walsh. They often make a lumpy old lady (me) look rather nice. And no pressure to buy either.

Can I still take me kids to the boozer? Actually, 'yummy mummy' is a term used by the mothers themselves to try and give their egos a boost. Everyone else uses MILF, and usually not about the ones that try the yummy mummy self-con. Thanks Loz - that's a relief (I actually quoted a previous post - in the old days you just had regular mums. I suppose some were MILFs too)

Yummy mummy is a slang term used in the United Kingdom to describe young, attractive and wealthy mothers. I'm in a bit of a pickle - I am old, ugly and poor. Can I still take me kids to the boozer?
  17. I agree ladies - when my son was a baby 4 years there wasn't that many options - now there are 2 a week at Greenwich et al, and the Peckham cinema! With the prams you can bring them to the foyer just outside where the usher puts a numbered ticket on the pram giving you the corresponding one. Soe ladies brought their car seats in. I agree with the choice of films - really don't mind - I was cockahoop just to be out!!!!
  18. Just wanted to say that I tried the Thursday showing at Peckham today - could walk there, ?5.99 with cuppa and muffin included, nice staff and bags of room. Fab.
  19. Yip Andicam - that's good too (according to husband sitting by side. He also said the London Bridge one is a bit slower - more walking)!
  20. Husband used to do this. Train to London Bridge, jubilee to West Ham - try to then get C2C as this is quick or failing that get the district line to Barking. If you don't have to leave from East Dulwich you could get overland from New cross/new cross gate/brockley/honor oak to whitechapel and get on district line. Apparently husband and friend have timed several options and these were the quickest.
  21. I work in Newham, Plaistow actually, and Green Street would be a great place to buy a Sari. I have bought a couple of sarees from there. The childrens' ones were not at all expensive, and they do lovely salwar kameezes (apologies for spelling. I think Whitechapel and Bethnal Green are good too. Not sure of south London - possibly East Street Market.... Good luck - lovely idea.
  22. I'm in a similiar situation to Snowboarder - one in Feb this year, and one is 2007(!) - would be interested to know if its too late, and again when you might do the classes. Great idea by the way....
  23. I have used Lister a few times and found the docs there to be really good. If you haven't gone already, go now. Its really quite on a Saturday. Not sure if it is still the case, but the New Cross one used to only see children over the age of 2. Lister doesn't have that rule. Good luck.
  24. Just read this entire thread in a oner. Can't breath for laughing. Thank you. Just thank you....!
