  1. It was a lovely restaurant. high quality food, relaxed but buzzy atmosphere and really good prices. I am sure their next venture will be as good, although different and I wish them all the best.
  2. Good news, my husband loved the tops I bought for him for Christmas.
  3. We heard via the police that it was a fight in a house that spilled into the road.
  4. Hi forumites: we want to sell our house now the housing market has re-opened. Who would you recommend to do a good job for us?
  5. I know it's supposed to be good for the trees, but this brutal amputation of these beautiful trees that were looking absolutely wonderful - and so uplifting to the spirits - has depressed me immeasurably. Did it REALLY have to be done now, when we are in the middle of an apocalypse and just trying to hold on to our stiff upper lips and keep smiling? And what about the nesting birds? They don't stand a chance. This is the first time in the last few weeks that I've nearly cried, and I probably will before I go to bed tonight. SOOOOOOOOO thoughtless and un-empathetic from the council.
  6. I don't really like it artistically, but at the same time I think it's fab that it was made and that it's there. And in that sense I love it!
  7. Agree, we taped thank you letters to our bins.
  8. Me too. Grace & favour was my favourite shop in ED in the 90s. We arrived with a baby and then quickly had another one in 1991. So happy when BBC and Free Range opened up. And it's been on the up ever since. Now that our babies have left home, got married etc we are thinking of downsizing. But where to go after 30 fab years in ED?
  9. So pleased to hear this. you must be SOOOOO relieved!
  10. So glad that Flo is making a recovery, but it sounds quite a serious op. I recall her as a lovely fast runner, will she be able to get back to that? Fully support making that gate self-closing, it's a real worry for dogs and children.
  11. I know mention of cycling annoys some people. I am a 59 year old woman and I cycle slowly and safely into Bank at 8am in 31 minutes using Citymapper "quiet" route. Cycling into the West End takes about 38 minutes and is equally enjoyable and safe.
  12. It is not at all an awful practice, in my family?s experience.
  13. So sorry to hear about Flo?s injuries, and wishing her a speedy recovery. It was very distressing to all who were there. I have to add that the pharmacist and her daughter were so helpful and kind. What a horrible thing to happen over what should be a time of celebration. Thinking of Flo and her family.
