  1. I'm looking for advice. I'm a single, loving mum who feels like she's had it hard over the last 4 years and in the meantime has experienced a diminished lost in all communication with her 13 year old daughter. I'm really, really sad and am reaching out to anyone that may be able to help in any way and hopefully give me hope. Thank you in advance xxx
  2. Please can anyone recommend any lovely dog boarding families/companies in the SE22/SE15 or surrounding areas. I'm not interested in Kennels. Have been let down at the last minute so this is really URGENT. Thank you in advance. Regards, Clare
  3. Ironically I also hold negative thoughts about St Thomas' aftercare. Fortunately I'm now with Brieley midwifes for our 2nd baby due in 2 weeks and I'm adamant I'm going to achieve the home birth I wanted first time round. I believe the most important thing is to address your fears with some sort of help (whichever method may work for you) as the more relaxed you are able to remain, the better your body will cope and respond to what is the most natural thing for women to do and what we have been doing for thousands of years. Natal Hypnobirthing is said to help with anxieties that women have regarding labour?... Good luck and I'm sure whatever decision you make, it'll be the right one for you.
  4. I too looked into independent midwifery for my second birth due in 3 weeks. I originally wanted to go with Brieley community midwifes but only moved into the area a few months ago and was told I'd missed the boat unfortunately. I am planning for a home birth and wanted this first time round but the care (or should I say lack of it) meant I ended up going into hospital, St Thomas' not Kings. The independent midwifery option looks amazing but I couldn't believe the cost.....?3,500!! Considering I was already in my 3rd trimester, I simply couldn't justify paying this sort of money and as it happens have now been extremely fortunate and am with the Brieley community midwifes so am looking forward to better care hopefully enabling my home birth. If you can afford it and feel your past care wasn't good enough, I'd do it but if you feel you had the care you wanted, I'd be more inclined to stick that money in the wee ones account instead. Good luck :-)
  5. My 4 year old does the same. I too do various activities with her and make play dates but have the same opinion that I can't and won't entertain her 24/7 for the same reasons. Consequently, I often find her just lying around with her thumb in her mouth and stroking our cat. I wouldn't worry about it at all. When my daughter does this, I sometimes ask her if she is ok to which her reply reassures me "I'm just a little bit tired and having a rest mummy"....aarh :-)
  6. I really personally believe (and know from friends experiences) that you can have a wonderful vaginal birth despite having had a c/section with no:1. If it is your personal anxieties getting in the way ONLY, I would highly recommend visiting www.natalhypnotherapy.co.uk and maybe look into purchasing the CD's and consider hypnotherapy. A friend had the most horrific experience with baby no:1 which lead to c/section and very long recovery. She really wanted her second to be a better experience and to give birth naturally (she's a bit of a hippy too :-)) but had tremendous anxiety and flash backs and had (want seems to me) the same concerns that you have. She did hypnotherapy and had no: 2 with no complications in hospital with not even gas and air. She said the whole experience was truely amazing and very calm. I am due in 3 weeks and purchased the CD's myself and feel much more empowered and ready for baby no:2 which I am intending to have at home which unfortunately couldn't happen first time round due to length of labour and waters having been broken for long period of time. Good luck and do what 'you' feel best for 'you' and 'baby' :-)
  7. Hi, I have 3 tickets for today's family festival (Lollibop Festival) at regents park. Sadly my daughter is ill so we won't be going. Tickets on the gate would cost you ?30, I am offering all 3 for ?70 saving a potential ?20. Please call if interested on 07775 761451 Thanks Clare
