  3. try amazon (it seems to have it there) or a local dry cleaner shop or call a really good dry cleaners and see if they can recommend anything
  4. On one of the bike hangar spaces (we have four hardly used in our road as not safe, dirty and people with expensive bikes take them indoors or into their gardens) Southwark Council inadvertently sent us paperwork which declared the space was worth 1million in terms of cash. Another neighbour told us that Councils do not need to consult which is why they just carry on. Legalalien - maybe you might be able to research this by your moniker? Is this true? Can this be changed through Ombudsmen? Ealing Council's fight to say that actually ambulances and fire need access - helped - go to one of the fora for Ealing - Lib Dem I think to see a sound, cogent, article. We need balance on the road, clogging them up causes more polution not less (especially round schools - but Council does not want to be sued). Lithium is fire hazard, Chinese-led, enslaved children etc etc, no lasting power. So EV short-term measure and is not the way. Maybe gas-powered cars are? R4 might be good to contact, LBC etc.
  5. Hey and yes welcome and happy moving in. Another 'yeh' to Octopus. So, British Gas is one of the worst that I have had the displeasure of dealing with - even Ofgem wrote to me to say that BG is the one which they have the most trouble with . . .
  6. try Gathered Bellenden Road very knowledgeable and helpful - you can buy a quantity you want to buy and they are reasonable immo

    Air fryer

gas is still cheaper than electric - we use slow cooker and a bit of gas - consumer commentators have recently said it wasn't cheaper particularly compared to microwave etc
  11. Hi there - adding a few things - Check that they are not putting rubble, sand and building residue down the drains in the street - this is a constant issue in Southwark where the drains in the streets have not been serviced at all as far as I know. Stress from building work does not often appear until 3-5 years after the build, when cracks then appear that 'weren't there earlier - you need to get proper advice in this regard - thanks
  12. hello we use mustafa in Camberwell Green - he's been there a lo-n-g time - he can also alter and take up curtains, if they are very big which our were (townhouse style) - he works with an affiliate and sends them off - if he can't do, he will say as well...very reasonable price
  13. Wishing you all the best - there might be fingerprints - so sorry you had saved up for many years - there's a guy in Cambridge who has had a lot of success on peddle bikes - maybe touchbase with him ------------------------------------------------------- > The school has security cameras so that may help > you. The office there usually picks up when you > ring. Best wishes for a good outcome 👍
  14. Logistically, difficult - Ukraine no fly zone so taking financial donations through Red Cross etc for immediate reach - You could see if surrounding countries want goods or contact charities
  15. you can pre-order at Theo's gluten-free pizza - very nice - Camberwell Arms is good at GF - one of the chef's was GF but double check as staff change -
  16. The Boundary Commission for England (www.bcereviews.org.uk is proposing changes to redraw parliamentary constituencies across the country. There are major changes for Camberwell voters with the Commission recommending approx. a third of Camberwell joins Vauxhall to become ?Vauxhall and Camberwell?, and nearly two-thirds of Camberwell being absorbed into Peckham. We already have a situation with no single MP exclusively focused on Camberwell, with areas represented around the SE5 borders by three other MPs and the majority of residents sitting in ?Camberwell and Peckham?. If this proposal goes ahead, when the next General Election comes, our interests as a community will now be severely divided. The risk is that investment, for jobs, for transport and other benefits will be increasingly diverted to town centres of Vauxhall, Brixton, and Peckham, and we will be overlooked. Our response The SE5 Forum for Camberwell, The Camberwell Society, Camberwell Arts and the Camberwell Identity Group believe that this breakup of the Camberwell community is unacceptable. For example, this proposal will see the Camberwell School of Arts, King?s College Hospital, Camberwell Grove, Camberwell Grove, Camberwell New Rd, Denmark Hill Station and Burgess Park become part of Peckham. This is yet another example of how Camberwell?s identity is being eroded in subtle but additive ways. We already lie on the boundary between councils and, as a result, often lose out on funding opportunities. We understand this process is important to even up the numbers of each constituency. But we know how important the recognition of home as a place is. That ?sense of place? influences us in many ways as an individual, and as a member of a community. Camberwell is home to over 40,000 people with thousands more employed, studying and visiting. It is a real neighbourhood. We have a strong cultural mix, and rich history, which makes it a great place to live. We are proud to call our home Camberwell. The Boundary Commission has an obligation to recognise communities and try and keep them together. We will submit a response to the Boundary Commission proposal on the 2nd August 21. We will be asking that it reconsiders the current proposal and recognises Camberwell, as defined by the postcode SE5, as a community. Call to action If you feel the same, then please sign our petition, so together we can ask the Commission to ensure we keep Camberwell together.
