    Join me for a kimchi workshop on Friday 9 October at 1pm where you'll make a 500ml jar of kimchi to take home and ferment. The recipe I use is vegan. Everything you need is provided. No experience of fermentation is required. I'll teach you everything you need to know and your kimchi will be ready to eat within a week of the workshop. Delicious!

    Kimchi is a spicy Korean condiment made from fermented cabbage. As well as being delicious, it has lots of brilliant gut health boosting properties. I'll give you lots of recipe ideas on how to eat kimchi.

    Create two delicious Summery ferments from Cucumbers in this hands-on workshop on Zoom


    Cucumber Kimchi is a refreshing alternative to the traditional Korean cabbage kimchi and it's the perfect accompaniment for lighter meals. We'll also make fermented sour dill pickles in this workshop that are ideal for burgers if you're going to be cracking open the barbecue soon.

  6. I'm offering online workshops where you can make your own fermented drinks for a refreshing Summer brew with added probiotic goodness.


    Workshops are as follows:


    Sunday 7 June: Pineapple Tepache (a fizzy thirst quencher with Mexican origins, vegan recipe)

    Monday 22 June: Probiotic lemonade (vegetarian recipe, contains whey)


    Just a few simple ingredients are required for each workshop so you won't have to source anything unusual! No experience of fermentation required.

    Alice MacKinnon is a plant based chef, cookery teacher and product consultant living in London. A real fermentation enthusiast, she has recently moved back from Los Angeles where she taught at the Matthew Kenney Culinary School.
