  1. I reckon it'll be a new curry house. ;-)

  3. There's been a starbucks in Dog Kennel Hill Sainsburys for the past 5 years. It's just been closed due to the recent building works.
  4. I work at Hammersmith Hospital, near East Acton - so a bit further than White City. For me it's bus to Elephant & Castle, Bakerloo line to Oxford Circus, then Central Line to East Acton. Then a nice 15 minute walk. Total time - 90 minutes. Alternative is train to London Bridge, Northern Line to Bank then Central Line to East Acton. Cuts maybe 15 minutes off the journey, BUT trains are so horrible in the morning I prefer just getting the bus and relaxing.
  5. > I blame the foxes! I think it's generally accepted that a fox can't/won't kill a regular sized cat.
  6. Is it me, or have a lot of cats gone missing in East Dulwich recently? Keep seeing posters stuck to bus stops, and posts on this forum..this is like thr 4th in the last month..
  7. hey that's my Facebook group :)) it's pretty popular, but yeh loads and loads of Dulwich College/Alleyns/JAGs kids. but then that's kinda what facebook is about.
  8. so, any idea when the Sea Cow will be back in business? I love their haddock & chips - a real treat after a hard day at work!
  9. Saffron from Republica was there??? at The Drum? why was she there??? is she a regular?
  10. i live in East Dulwich and went to Askes. Used to have to get 484 or P3 with 10 minute walk to bus stop, and honestly the bus journey wasn't bad - just gave me time to think / relax / talk to friends etc plus bus allows you to make new friends (you end up talking to anyone in your year who's at the same bus stop). Now we have the P13 directly there, it's even easier - and apparently the school is mixed now?!! As for Charter school, yeh my niece is about to start there - we had a good look at exam results, they're very good, and it's got ridiculously good marks when inspected. However, i still think if you can apply for Askes you must - great atmosphere, great teachers, just a fantastic school overall.
  11. lol = laugh out loud Acvtually watching the video again, that could be one of the new style 185's..
  12. > I also read somewhere that one of those x-factor > rejects had her video filmed in the EDT. I watched > it and it definitely was but I didn't recognise > her... reckon the EDT is more famous than she is. indeed, Maria Lawson's debut video was recently filmed in the EDT. Watch it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlM-oJJFtmA You can see Cafe Nero and the Number 37 bus!
  13. > Public transport isn't that great around East > Dulwich and the village. Sometime a cab is > needed, just not Panther any more. Really? I find the transport links excellent - 2 buses to central london (176, 12), 10mins to London Bridge (from East Dulwich train station), or 20mins to Victoria (from Demark Hill). Also the P13 stops inside Sainsburys and services a good portion of Lordship Lane!
  14. I use Homechoice, which is enabled everwhere in East Dulwich. it's ?32 a month, but I get 4Mb broadband, and the medium TV package, which is an excellent alternative to Sky or cable. Also because the Tv comes through your broadband line, lots of channels have video on demand programs, and you can rent movies through the box. Easier than going to Apollo video store anyway!
  15. Apparently a gran and a baby in a pram were hit by the car. Heard they're ok though. Anyone know any more details?
  16. Yeh GBK is soo bad i'm going back for the third time this Wednesday (to try their new Xmas burger - turkey, stuffing, bacon and cranberry, yum!). Just to counter your claims - I've always found the milkshakes yummy and the burgers have NEVER been dry. Yes it's expensive but no more expensive than a regular resteruant (and its far more exciting!). Also yes waiting for a table is annoying but that's just cos it's popular - best to avoid going between 8pm-9pm, and hey Liquorice is next door - just grab a pint or two first.
  17. I'm like a seperate 'classified/for' sale board, away from the 'recommendations/reviews' board. The two are quite seperate, and it would be easier to quickly scan through things for sale. thanks!
