  1. I think it?s really shocking that Southwark dont offer ?catchment? guidance. Lewisham sent a really clear email with exact catchment information. We are expected to choose schools for our kids having never set foot in any of them. There needs to be extra information published to assist with this difficult and impossible process.
  2. My husband went into to the co-op on Lordship lane and bought some meat from chilled cabinet . When he got to the till the cashier asked him if he was planning to eat the meat today. When he asked why that was relevant he was told that the fridges had gone off overnight and they weren't sure how long the fridges had been off. My husband asked to speak to th manager and told him it was dangerous to sell meat that had not been in the fridge - they said they were in the process of throwing some of it away. Don't buy meat from there today!
  3. It's such a bold decision- and I think I understand it if you've tried school and it really doesn't work for your child or you're planning on sailing round the world. what I don't get is how and why would you make that call based on no experience of today's incredible primary school education? To deny your child a potentially amazing childhood at school with all the life enriching experiences and friendships that it entails boldly marking them out as 'different' for the rest of their lives is such a radical thing to do on their behalf. I understand that the 1 to 1 education will surely advance them academically- but have to question why a parent wouldn't choose to do that alongside mainstream education should they so wish. I'm not trying to be provocative I just don't get it. What's led you to make that decision?
  4. hi there I know a wonderful woman who runs a compnany called ' an extra pair of hands'. She is just that - whether it be de-cluttering, childcare, gardening relative visits, walking the dog - she is lovely and very reliable and has worked with people who are ill and need help. I'm sure your request would fall within her remit. Her website is www.anextrapairofhands.co.uk and shes on 07930 495895
  5. Im a slow cooker fan - we call it the magic pot - walk in after a hard days work and dinner is done! The absolute key is TO THICKEN at the end you need to make a butter and flour roux or mix a bit of corn flower with water and stir in before serving. Also I throw a handful of barrley in most stews as the absorb water and thincken things up.
